Uwe Ludewig (born 26 June 1967 in Helmstedt) is a German agricultural scientist specialising in plant physiology. He is director of the Institute for Crop Science at the University of Hohenheim. Biography After school in Braunschweig Ludewig studied physics, particularly biophysics, at the Technical University in the same city. He then studied at the Georg-August University in Göttingen, where he completed his studies with a Diploma at the Max-Planck-Institut for Biophysical Chemistry (Dept. of Membrane Physics). Elsa Ludewig-Verdehr (born April 14, 1936) is an American clarinetist and music educator whose contributions to the Verdehr Trio have resulted in an extensive modern body of work for the clarinet-violin-piano trio medium. Biography Born in Charlottesville, Virginia, Elsa Ludewig-Verdehr received Bachelor of Music degrees in both clarinet performance and music education from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, where she studied with George Waln. She went on to study with the legendary Stanley Hasty at the Eastman School of Music, where she earned both a Performer's Certificate (1958) and the Doctor of Musical Arts degree (1964). While studying at Eastman, Ludewig-Verdehr was an instructor of clarinet from 1959–1962 at Ithaca College Ludewig-Verdehr accepted an Assistant Professor position at Michigan State University in 1962, and has been a Full Professor there since 1977. Johanna Ludewig
Johanna Ludewig (28 March 1891 – 11 July 1958) was a German politician (SPD, KPD). As a member of the Prussian parliament between 1921 and 1933 she was particularly active in the Communist Women's movement. During 1944 she survived approximately three weeks as an internee in the Ravensbrück concentration camp. Life Johanna Ludewig was born in Berlin. Her father was a plumber. She attended a and worked between 1907 and 1928 in various functions in the accounts and purchasing departments with a succession of Berlin companies. Jörg Ludewig (born 9 September 1975 in Halle, North Rhine-Westphalia) is a German former road cyclist. Ludewig turned professional in 1997, with the Gerolsteiner team. He became a typical "bottlebringer" and teamrider while doing several "grand tours", including 3 editions of the Tour de France. Dieterich Bernhard Ludewig
Dieterich Bernhard Ludewig (7 November 1707 – 27 February 1740) was a German organist. He was born in Thonhausen, near Ronneburg and south of Leipzig. He studied theology at Leipzig University and was one of Johann Sebastian Bach's pupils from 1731 to 1737; he also tutored Bach's younger children. Bach provided testimonials for him in March and October 1737, in which he referred to Ludewig's capabilities in singing and playing various instruments and to his participation in the activities of Bach's collegium musicum.
