Lucy Pargeter
Lucy Kate Pargeter (born 1 March 1977) is an English actress, known for her roles as Helen Raven in ''Crossroads'' (2002–2003) and Chas Dingle in ''Emmerdale'' (2002–present). She also finished third in the 13th series of the ITV reality show '' I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!'' in 2013. For her role in ''Emmerdale'', she won the 2019 British Soap Award for Best Actress. Early life Pargeter was born in Nottingham. She trained at the Central Junior Television Workshop and New College, Nottingham. She was a member of the band Paperdolls, which toured with Boyzone in the 1990s and had a number 65 chart single with "Gonna Make You Blush". She also took part in ''Stars in Their Eyes'' as Emma Bunton. Career Her first acting role was in the TV Movie "The Bare Necessities" in 1996 where she appeared with future ''Emmerdale'' co-star William Ash. Chas Dingle
Chastity Dingle (also Livesy and Spencer) is a fictional character from the British soap opera ''Emmerdale'', played by Lucy Pargeter. More commonly known as Chas, she made her first appearance during the episode broadcast on 16 October 2002. Chas returned on 21 September 2003. Chas was absent for six months in 2005 when Pargeter took maternity leave. She left temporarily on 5 June 2005, and returned full-time from 13 December 2005. In 2013, Pargeter announced that she would be taking a short break from the show in order to appear in '' I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!''. Pargeter was briefly recast for one episode on 20 December 2016 to provide an alternative physical appearance to the character through the eyes of Ashley Thomas ( John Middleton). Anita And Me
''Anita and Me'' is Meera Syal's debut novel, and was first published in 1996. It is a semi-autobiographical novel, based on Syal's childhood in the mining village of Essington, Staffordshire, which won the Betty Trask Award. The story revolves around Meena, a British Indian girl (the "me" of the title), and her relationship with her best friend, English neighbour Anita, as they grow up in the fictional Midlands village of Tollington in the late 1960s. The novel is used as a GCSE set text for an English literature examination provided by examination boards AQA, Edexcel, OCR and WJEC. It is also used by other lower years in British schools. Film The novel was made into a film of the same name in 2002, in which Syal appears as Meena's Auntie Shaila. Syal also wrote the screenplay for the film. Matthew Wolfenden (born 5 May 1980) is an English actor and screenwriter, known for his role as David Metcalfe in the British soap opera ''Emmerdale''. Early and personal life Wolfenden was born in Norwood Green, West Yorkshire. He was educated at Brighouse High School. Wolfenden was a member of the British gymnastics squad until, aged 16, he fell whilst practising on the rings and broke his back. This prevented him from continuing gymnastics and he turned to acting. Wolfenden was married to his ''Emmerdale'' co-star Charley Webb and the couple have three sons.
