Lucy Garner
Lucy May van der Haar (née Garner; born 20 September 1994) is a British former professional racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2013 and 2020 for the , and teams. Van der Haar is a double junior world road race champion, winning in consecutive years, in 2011 and 2012. Career Early life Van der Haar grew up in Cosby, Leicestershire. Her first cycling club was the Leicestershire Road Club. Competing with them from 2004 to 2012, she won many National Awards from both the British Schools Cycling Association and British Cycling. She remained in full-time education until 2012, when she left Countesthorpe Community College having completed her AS-levels. Amateur career Van der Haar won her first junior world title at the 2011 road world championships in Copenhagen. She was part of a late six-woman breakaway from the peloton and won the race comfortably in a sprint for the line. Tour Series
The Tour Series is an annual series of cycling criterium races held in the United Kingdom since 2009. It is televised by ITV4 in the UK. The competition emphasises team effort with individual wins deemed less important. The races are held over 1 hour of racing plus 5 laps. The team standings for each round are calculated by adding together the positions of the top three riders of each team (5 riders start for each team) and the team with the lowest score wins, and get 10 points for the overall championship. Each team gets 1 point less than the one in front of them, so second gets 9, third gets 8, and so on. In addition, there is the sprint competition. There are three sprints every race, and the top five riders are awarded points based on place: 1st, 5; 2nd, 4; 3rd, 3; 4th, 2 and 5th, 1. Elinor Jane Barker (born 7 September 1994) is a Welsh road and track racing cyclist, who last rode professionally on the road for UCI Women's Team . Representing Great Britain in international competitions, Barker is an Olympic champion, a two-time World champion and seven-time European champion in the team pursuit, as well as a three-time World champion in the points and scratch races, a two-time European Madison champion and one time European Elimination race champion. Representing Wales, Barker was also the 2018 Commonwealth Games Points race champion. Hannah Mary Barnes (born 4 May 1993) is a British racing cyclist, who rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . She is the sister of fellow racing cyclist Alice Barnes, who rides for . Career Born in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, Barnes grew up in Bladon, Oxfordshire and later moved to Towcester, Northamptonshire. Barnes began cycling with Milton Keynes based Team Keyne at the age of 10, before joining Palmer Park Velo in Reading after she was spotted and invited to join British Cycling's Talent Team. Barnes was the under 14 omnium National Champion, a title held the previous year by Laura Trott, and the following year by Lucy Garner. 2011 British National Track Championships
The 2011 British National Track Championships were held between 28 September 2011 and 2 October 2011. The event was organised by British Cycling, and competitions of various track cycling disciplines in age, gender and disability categories were held. The competition was staged at the National Track Cycling Centre at the Manchester Velodrome, the venue for the track cycling at the 2002 Commonwealth Games. The event was notable for the return to form of Sir Chris Hoy, who claimed three national titles, and the emergence of Jonathan Mould, and the future world champions Becky James and Lizzie Armitstead, who won two titles each. British National Team Pursuit Championships
The British National Team Pursuit Championships are held annually as part of the British National Track Championships organized by British Cycling. Prior to 1996, there were two separate team pursuit championship events for amateur and professional riders. A women's championship was later added, competing over a shorter 3 km distance with three riders, until 2013 when this was increased to 4 km with 4 riders as in the men's event. History and profile In 1929, ''Het Nieuwsblad'' was published by ''De Standaard'' for the first time. In 1939, the sports paper ''Sportwereld'' (established in 1912) was purchased by De Standaard and turned into a daily supplement to their two main newspapers, "De Standaard" and "Het Nieuwsblad". Grace Garner
Grace Fenton Garner (born 19 June 1997) is an English former professional racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2016 and 2020, for the , , and teams. Her older sister Lucy van der Haar also competed professionally in cycling, before also retiring in 2020. Career Garner was educated at Countesthorpe Leysland Community College. In 2015, Garner finished sixth in the Women's Tour de Yorkshire, and seventh in the junior road race at the UCI Road World Championships. She turned professional with the team in 2016: after the team folded at the end of the season she joined for the 2017 season. As part of the National Women's Road race series, Garner won the Essex Giro. When folded at the end of 2018, both Garner sisters joined for 2019.
