Lucy Flores
Lucy Flores (born October 24, 1979) is an American lawyer and former politician. A member of the Democratic Party, she was a member of the Nevada State Assembly representing the 28th district in the eastern Las Vegas Valley from 2010 to 2014. She unsuccessfully ran for Lieutenant Governor of Nevada in 2014, losing to Republican nominee Mark Hutchison. Early life and education Flores was one of 13 children. Only one brother graduated high school, and all of her sisters became pregnant in their teens. Flores's mother left her family when she was nine, and her father worked multiple jobs, so she had to care for her younger siblings. When her mother left, Flores's school performance suffered, and she became involved with local gangs. She spent months in juvenile detention after stealing a car. Mo Denis
Moises Denis (born August 9, 1961) is an American politician serving as President ''pro tempore'' of the Nevada Senate since 2016. A member of the Democratic Party, he has represented the 2nd district in the Nevada Senate since 2010, covering parts of the eastern Las Vegas Valley. He was previously a member of the Nevada Assembly from 2004 to 2010, representing Assembly District 28 in the same area. Biography Denis was born in New York City to parents who had immigrated from Cuba. Denis is Mormon. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Uruguay. General Educational Development
The General Educational Development (GED) tests are a group of four subject tests which, when passed, provide certification that the test taker has United States or Canadian high school-level academic skills. It is an alternative to the US high school diploma, as is HiSET. The GED Testing Service website currently does not refer to the test as anything but "GED". The American Council on Education (ACE), in Washington, D.C. (U.S.), which owns the GED trademark, coined the initialism to identify "tests of general equivalency development" that measure proficiency in science, mathematics, social studies, reading, and writing. Brian Edward Sandoval (; born August 5, 1963) is an American politician, academic administrator, and former federal judge who served as the 29th Governor of Nevada from 2011 to 2019. A graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno, Sandoval began his political career in the early 1990s. In 1998 he was appointed to be a member of the Nevada Gaming Commission and later served as the Commission's chairman from 1999 to 2001.
