Lucky Ladders
''Lucky Ladders'' was a United Kingdom daytime game show based on the American format titled ''Chain Reaction (game show), Chain Reaction'' that was produced by ITV Anglia, Anglia and aired on ITV (TV network), ITV from 21 March 1988 until 14 May 1993. It was hosted by Lennie Bennett and narrated by Peter Simon (presenter), Peter Simon. Format Competition rounds Two teams of two people were taken from the "Player's Paddock" (an enclosure containing enough fresh players to enable the producers to make five programmes in one studio session). They were shown a "lucky ladder"—a chain of seven words that connect to each other in some way. The top and bottom words were revealed at the outset, and the contestants would have to try to guess what words belonged in-between, one letter at a time. One Day In The Life Of Television
''One Day in the Life of Television'' is a documentary that was broadcast on ITV on 1 November 1989. Filmed by over fifty crews exactly one year earlier, it was a huge behind-the-scenes look at a wide range of activities involved in the production, reception and marketing of British television. The project was funded by th Markle Foundation and organised by Richard Paterson and Janet Willis at the British Film Institute and produced and directed for television by Peter Kosminsky. The documentary opens with TV-am's industrial conflict, with picketers outside of the studio at Camden Lock. The documentary also looks at '' Breakfast Time'', ''Lucky Ladders'' and ''EastEnders''. Bob Stewart (born Isidore L. Steinberg; August 27, 1920 – May 4, 2012) was an American television game show producer. He was active in the TV industry from 1956 until his retirement in 1991. Stewart is known for creating some of the most popular game shows for Mark Goodson-Bill Todman Productions. These shows include '' To Tell the Truth'', ''Password'', and ''The Price Is Right.'' His biggest success as an independent producer was the ''Pyramid'' series, starting with ''The $10,000 Pyramid'' in 1973. ''Chain Reaction'' is an American television game show created by Bob Stewart, in which players compete to form chains composed of two-word phrases. The show has aired five separate runs: Bill Cullen hosted the original series on NBC from January 14, 1980, to June 20, 1980. The second version aired on the USA Network from September 29, 1986, to December 27, 1991, and was hosted first by Blake Emmons and later by Geoff Edwards (who also subbed for Cullen for two weeks on the NBC version). A third version aired on Game Show Network from August 1, 2006, to June 9, 2007, hosted by Dylan Lane. ITV (TV Network)
ITV is a British free-to-air public broadcast television network. It was launched in 1955 as Independent Television to provide competition to BBC Television (established in 1936). ITV is the oldest commercial network in the UK. Since the passing of the Broadcasting Act 1990, it has been legally known as Channel 3 to distinguish it from the other analogue channels at the time, BBC1, BBC2 and Channel 4. ITV was for four decades a network of separate companies which provided regional television services and also shared programmes between each other to be shown on the entire network. Each franchise was originally owned by a different company.
