Lucknow College Of Arts And Crafts
The Lucknow College of Arts and Crafts (LCAC), also known as the Government College of Arts and Crafts (GCAC) or simply the College of Arts and Crafts (CAC), was founded in 1911. It is affiliated to University of Lucknow. Sri Alok Kumar is principal of the college. History The school was established as the School of Industrial Design on 1 November 1892. Initially located at Wingfield Manzil, it moved to Aminabad and later to Baans Mandi. A purpose-built structure was started in 1909 and inaugurated in 1911. Nathanial Herd was the first principal. The school was renamed as Government College School of Arts and Crafts in 1917. The Indian school of painting was brought to the curriculum in 1925, and graphic arts courses were introduced in 1963. Former principal Jai Kishan Agarwal received the International Print Biannale Florence Italy award in 1974. Surendra Pal Joshi
Surendra pal Joshi was an Indian artist known for his use of experimental techniques in paintings, sculptures and murals. His works are in the collection of Uttara Museum of Contemporary Art in Dehradun, India. Early life Joshi was born on 23 July 1955 in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. In 1980, he joined Lucknow College of Arts and Crafts in Uttar Pradesh and completed his bachelor’s degree in fine arts afterwards. Career Joshi moved to Jaipur and later in 1988 started working as an assistant professor at the Rajasthan School of Art. Bhimsain (born Bhimsain Khurana; November 24, 1936 – April 17, 2018) was an Indian film director, producer, screenwriter and animator. He is best known as the pioneer of Indian animation, along with his mentor Ram Mohan. He was the recipient of 16 President's National Awards for his contributions to Indian cinema.
