Lucinda Bliss
Lucinda Bliss is an American artist, writer, and educator, born in Hartford, CT in 1965. Education Bliss earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from Skidmore College in Art History in 1988 and a Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) in Visual Art from Vermont College in 1999. Career Bliss is currently Associate Provost and Dean of Graduate Studies at Massachusetts College of Art and Design. She was previously Dean of Graduate Studies at the New Hampshire Institute of Art (NHIA) in Manchester, New Hampshire. Bliss’ teaching positions have included Professor of Liberal Studies in the undergraduate program of the Union Institute & University in Montpelier, VT, Assistant Professor at Colby College, and teaching at the Maine College of Art, the University of Southern Maine, and with the Crit Lab. Alison Hawthorne Deming
Alison Hawthorne Deming (b. 1946 Hartford, Connecticut) is an American poet, essayist and teacher, former Agnese Nelms Haury Chair in Environment and Social Justice and currently Regents Professor Emerita in Creative Writing at the University of Arizona. She received a 2015 Guggenheim Fellowship. Life Deming was born and grew up in Connecticut. She is a great-granddaughter of Nathaniel Hawthorne. She worked in health care for fifteen years, including a decade with Planned Parenthood. In 1983 she received an Master of Fine Arts in Poetry from Vermont College of Fine Arts. She has also been a Wallace Stegner Fellow at Stanford University and a Fellow at the Fine Arts Work Center, Provincetown, Massachusetts. She received two fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts. Kore Press is an American nonprofit literary press founded in 1993 and located in Tucson, Arizona. The Vermont Studio Center (VSC) is a non-profit arts organization located in the town of Johnson, Vermont. It conducts the largest fine arts and writing residency program in the United States, with a significant population of international artists in residency. Anderson Ranch Arts Center is a non-profit arts organization founded in 1966 and located in Snowmass Village, Colorado. The Virginia Center for the Creative Arts (VCCA) is a residential artist community in Amherst, Virginia, USA. History Founded in 1981 by Raymond Plank, Ucross is located on a 20,000-acre working cattle ranch in northeastern Wyoming.
