Luciano González (rugby Union)
Luciano Daniel González Rizzoni (born 10 April 1997) is an Argentine rugby union player. He won gold at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru. He was named in the Argentina squad for the Rugby sevens at the 2020 Summer Olympics. In both the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons, González was named in the HSBC Sevens Series Dream Team. In 2022, González competed for Argentina at the 2022 Rugby World Cup Sevens in Cape Town. In 2023 he scored his hundredth try for the Argentine 7s team. As of 22 May 2023, González has played in 249 matches and scored 118 tries for Argentina at the World Rugby Sevens Series. Argentina National Rugby Sevens Team
The Argentina national rugby sevens team competes in the World Rugby Sevens Series, in the Rugby World Cup Sevens, and, beginning in 2016, in the Summer Olympics. The Argentine rugby sevens team has had some success in the World Rugby Sevens Series, finishing third in 2003-04, and finishing among the top six teams in five out of six seasons from 2003-04 to 2008-09. Argentina won the USA Sevens tournament in 2004 and again in 2009. During its peak, the Argentine team was led by Santiago Gómez Cora, who is ranked all-time first in tries (230), fifth in points (1,178), and third in appearances (61). Argentina's best finish at the Rugby World Cup Sevens came in 2009, when the team reached the finals and finished as runners up. World Rugby Sevens Series
The World Rugby Men's Sevens Series is an annual series of international rugby sevens tournaments run by World Rugby featuring national sevens teams. Organised for the first time in the 1999–2000 season as the IRB World Sevens Series, the competition was formed to promote an elite-level of international rugby sevens and develop the game into a viable commercial product. The competition has been sponsored by banking group HSBC since 2014. The season's circuit consists of 10 tournaments that generally begin in November or December and last until May. The venues are held across 10 countries, and visits five of the six populated continents. The United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore, France and England each host one event.
