Lucas Kaufmann
Lucas Paz Forsten-Kaufmann (born 26 March 1991) is a Brazilian professional footballer for Finnish club EIF. Club career Club In November 2015, Kaufmann signed for newly promoted Veikkausliiga side PK-35 Vantaa. After being on trial with HJK, Kaufmann signed a three-year contract with FC Honka on 28 February 2017. In February 2018 Kaufmann suffered a LCL rupture and had to undergo surgery, but he recovered quickly in 4 months just on time for the second home game of the Veikkausliiga-season. Kaufmann was selected to the Veikkausliiga 'Team of the Month' in June 2018, after scoring 4 goals in just 5 games, and again to the 'Team of the Month' in August, this time giving 5 assists in 6 games and playing an important role in Honka's offense. The 2018 season ended for Honka, however, in a disappointing way, when KuPS took the third place by having a better goal difference. FC Honka is a Finnish football club based in Espoo. It was founded in 1957 as Tapion Honka, and changed its name to FC Honka in 1975. The club currently play in the Finnish premier division (''Veikkausliiga''), having been promoted for the first time in their history at the end of the 2005 season. It plays its home matches at the Tapiolan Urheilupuisto. FC Honka is largely renowned in Finland for its extensive youth scheme with over 1,000 youth players playing in various age groups. It also has a women's team in the Kansallinen Liiga. The 2015 Ykkönen began on 2 May 2015 and ended on 17 October 2015. The winning team qualified directly for promotion to the 2016 Veikkausliiga 2016, while the second-placed team had to play a play-off against the eleventh-placed team from Veikkausliiga to decide who would play in that division. The bottom two teams were relegated to Kakkonen. 2019 Veikkausliiga
The 2019 Veikkausliiga was the 89th season of top-tier football in Finland. Helsingin Jalkapalloklubi were the defending champions. New league format Veikkausliiga adopted a new league format for the 2019 season. Each team played against each other twice in the regular season. After the regular season the top six teams advanced to the Championship Series which determines the champion and European tournament qualification places. The bottom six teams advanced to the Challenger Series. The best team from the Challenger Series plays in a tournament against the Championship Series' 4th, 5th, and 6th place teams. The winner from that plays in a final series against the 3rd best team from the Championship Series. The last UEFA Europa League qualification place goes to the winner of that final series. 2018 Veikkausliiga
The 2018 Veikkausliiga was the 88th season of top-tier football in Finland. HJK were the defending champions. Fixtures for the 2018 season were announced on 17 January 2017. The season started on 7 April 2018 and ended on 27 October 2018. Teams JJK were relegated to Ykkönen after finishing at the bottom of the 2017 season. Their place was taken by Ykkönen champions TPS. HIFK as 11th-placed team lost their Veikkausliiga spot after losing to second-placed Ykkönen team FC Honka in a relegation/promotion playoff. The 2017 Ykkönen was the 46th season of Ykkönen, the second highest football league in Finland. The season started on 29 April 2016 and ended on 21 October 2016. The winning team qualified directly for promotion to the 2018 Veikkausliiga, while the second had to play a play-off against the eleventh-placed team from Veikkausliiga to decide who would play in that division. The bottom two teams were relegated to Kakkonen. Overview A total of ten teams contested in the league, including seven sides from the 2016 season, and FC Honka and Gnistan who were promoted from Kakkonen after winning the promotion play-offs.
