Lucas González Amorosino
Lucas González Amorosino (born 2 November 1985) is an Argentine rugby union player who plays fullback or wing. He was part of the Argentina sevens team before joining Leicester in 2009 following his full international début against that summer. Career 2009–10 season He was given a trial by Leicester before the start of the 2009/10 season, he was later given a full contract ahead of French international Nicolas Jeanjean who was also at Leicester on a trial basis at the time. González Amorosino made an instant impression, scoring 4 tries in his first 6 matches, including 2 in the opening two rounds of the Heineken Cup and one in Leicester's win against a South African touring XV at Welford Road. However he suffered a stress fracture in his leg early in November in an LV Cup match and missed the 2010 November internationals. Welford Road (currently known as Mattioli Woods Welford Road for sponsorship reasons) is a rugby union stadium in Leicester, England, and is the home ground of Leicester Tigers. The ground was opened on 10 September 1892, and is located between Aylestone Road and Welford Road on the southern edge of the city centre. The European Rugby Champions Cup (known as the Heineken Champions Cup for sponsorship reasons) is an annual rugby union tournament organised by European Professional Club Rugby (EPCR). It is the top-tier competition for clubs who compete in a predominantly European league. United Rugby Championship
The United Rugby Championship (URC) is an annual rugby union competition involving professional teams from Ireland, Italy, Scotland, South Africa, and Wales. The current name was adopted in 2021 when the league expanded to include four South African teams previously from the SANZAR Super Rugby competition. The league is one of the three major professional leagues in Europe (along with the English Premiership Rugby, Premiership and the French Top 14), the most successful teams from which go forward to compete in the European Rugby Champions Cup. The 2011 Rugby World Cup was the seventh Rugby World Cup, a quadrennial international rugby union competition inaugurated in 1987. The International Rugby Board (IRB) selected New Zealand as the host country in preference to Japan and South Africa at a meeting in Dublin on 17 November 2005. The 2011 mid-year rugby union tests featured only seven matches due to the upcoming 2011 Rugby World Cup. No test series took place, although the Barbarian F.C., Barbarians did play two matches in the United Kingdom; England and Wales. New Zealand and Australia hosted a respective Tier 2 side, Australia hosted Samoa, New Zealand hosted Fiji. Richard Cockerill
Richard Cockerill (born 16 December 1970) is an English rugby union coach and former player, he was the national team's interim head coach between Eddie Jones and Steve Borthwick. He played as a hooker, spending the majority of his career at Leicester Tigers where he played 255 games over two spells, he won 27 caps for and was included in the 1999 Rugby World Cup squad. He won five league titles, two European Cups and two domestic cups as a player. Following his retirement from playing in 2005 Cockerill became Leicester's forwards coach, becoming head coach in 2009. He led Leicester to Premiership titles in 2009 and 2010, his first two years in charge, and a third title in 2013. The 2010 mid-year rugby union tests (also known as the Summer Internationals in the Northern Hemisphere) refers to the rugby union Internationals that were played from late May to late June, mostly in the Southern Hemisphere. For Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, the tests constituted preparation for the 2010 Tri Nations. The first nation to announce its fixtures for this series was Australia, which unveiled its schedule on 21 September 2009.
