Luaras
Luaras is a village in the Korçë County, southeastern Albania. At the 2015 local government reform, it became part of the municipality Kolonjë. Kristo Luarasi
Kristo Luarasi (1876–1934) was an Albanian nationalist figure, printer and publisher. He was one of the activists of the Albanian National Awakening. He was one of the first Albanian printers. Early life Kristo Luarasi was born on 15 December 1876 in Luaras community in the region of Kolonjë region in Albania, back then Ottoman Empire. He attended the Albanian school of Hotovë village where he was taught by Petro Nini Luarasi. Albanian Colony of Bucharest After the prohibition of Albanian schools in 1892, he emigrated to Romania where he started taking lessons in the Albanian school established by Nikolla Naço, back then leader of the ''Drita'' ("Light") Society and publisher of the newspaper ''Shqiptari'' ("The Albanian"). Petro Nini Luarasi
Petro Nini Luarasi (born 22 April 1865 in Luaras, Kolonjë, Albania, then Ottoman Empire, and died on 17 August 1911 in Ersekë, Kolonjë, Albania, then Ottoman Empire) was an Albanian rilindas activist, Christian orthodox priest, teacher and journalist. His father, Nini Petro Kostallari, had also been active in the Albanian National Revival as a publicist and teacher. Life Once that he finished the Qestorat seminary school under Koto Hoxhi, he worked as a teacher in the villages of Kolonjë District, where he taught Albanian in disguise and prepared a number of friends as future teachers of Albanian. In 1887 Luarasi and fellow teacher Thanas Sina took over the running of the Albanian school in Korçë from Pandeli Sotiri after his departure. Between 1887 and 1893 Luarasi opened in Ersekë and in some villages of the Kolonjë District Albanian language schools. Skënder Luarasi
Skënder Luarasi (19 January 190027 April 1982) was an Albanian scholar, writer and anti-fascist activist. Life Luarasi was born in Luaras of Kolonjë region (back then Ottoman Empire, today's Albania) on 19 January 1900. He was the son of Albanian patriot Petro Nini Luarasi, descendant of the ''Kostallari'' family of the Luaras village, and Lino Sevo. Though Luarasi was a Protestant, he named his son ''Skënder'' to refer to the Albanian National Hero Scanderbeg. The poet Naim Frashëri was his godfather. Luarasi performed the first studies in Albanian-language schools of Negovan and Korçë (1909-1911). After the death of his father by poisoning, he was sent to Robert College of Istanbul (1912-1913). Luarasi would continue his studies at Easton Academy in US (1914-1916), International College in Springfield, MA in US (1916-1918), Classis Gymnsium in Freistadt, Austria, (1922-1926) and graduated from the Faculty of Philology at University of Vienna, Austria in 1930.
