Lu Wen-sheng
Lu Wen-sheng (; born November 30, 1962, in Kaohsiung County (now part of Kaohsiung City), Taiwan) is a retired Taiwanese professional baseball player and the current manager of Uni-President Lions. He has also represented Chinese Taipei on many occasions before entering his professional career, and is sometimes named the best second baseman of his time. Baseball career Lu began his baseball career in elementary school, and has been playing on the national team since high school. Because of his skills, he was admitted into the Hu-feng baseball team (), the baseball team of the Taiwan Air Force. With his solid fielding skills, he was a frequent member of the Chinese Taipei national baseball team in the 1980s and won the bronze medal in the 1984 Olympics(as demonstration sport). Kaohsiung County
Kaohsiung County was a county in southern Taiwan between 1945 and 2010. The county seat was located in Fongshan City. History Kaohsiung County was established on 6 December 1945 on the territory of Takao Prefecture () shortly after the end of World War II. In the early years, Kaohsiung County consists of most territory of Takao Prefecture except the territory near cities of Takao (Kaohsiung) and Heitō ( Pingtung). The county is divided into districts (), which come from reformed Japanese districts (). The districts are divided into townships. On 16 August 1950, another division reform was implemented. The southern part of the county was separated and established Pingtung County. World Baseball Classic
The World Baseball Classic (WBC) is an international baseball tournament sanctioned from 2006 to 2013 by the International Baseball Federation (IBAF) and after 2013 by World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) in partnership with Major League Baseball (MLB). It was proposed to the IBAF by Major League Baseball (MLB), the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA), and other professional baseball leagues and their players associations around the world. It is one of the two main senior baseball tournaments sanctioned by the WBSC, but the only one which grants to the winner the title of "World Champion". Senior League Baseball
Intermediate, Junior, and Senior League Baseball are youth baseball divisions of Little League Baseball that are considered more advanced and difficult than younger Little League divisions due to more advanced rules, including the ability to lead-off and steal as the pitcher breaks, along with longer base paths and greater pitching distance. Junior League also includes the use of bats with barrels rather than the transitional barrels of Little League. Junior League also allows the use of metal spikes in cleats in addition to the molded or plastic spikes used in Little League.
