France is divided into 577 constituencies (''circonscriptions'') for the election of Member of Parliament (France), deputies to the lower legislative House, the National Assembly (France), National Assembly (539 in Metropolitan France, 27 in the overseas departments and territories of France, overseas departments and territories, and 11 for constituencies for French residents overseas, French residents overseas). Deputies are elected in a two round system to a term fixed to a maximum of five years. The constituency of the Lozère (French language, French: ''Circonscription de la Lozère'') is a French legislative Constituency (France), constituency in the Lozère ''Departments of France, département''. Like the other 576 French constituencies, it elects one MP using the two-round system, with a run-off if no candidate receives over 50% of the vote in the first round. Description The constituency of Lozère is the only constituency within Lozère, making it one of only two such departments in metropolitan France with a single constituency (along with Creuse). The Lozère's 2nd constituency, second constituency was abolished as a result of the 2010 redistricting of French legislative constituencies. Despite this adjustment the electorate in the seat remains low when compared to other constituencies.
