Loyola Greyhounds Men's Soccer
The Loyola Greyhounds men's soccer team represents Loyola University Maryland in NCAA Division I association football, soccer. It became a member of the Patriot League on July 1, 2013. Previously it competed in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) from 1989 to 2013. To avoid ambiguity, the team is often referenced as Loyola Maryland or Loyola (MD), as there are two other institutions named Loyola that compete at the Division I level (Loyola-Chicago of Illinois and Loyola-Marymount of California). The team is one of the most successful athletic programs at Loyola, winning numerous MAAC Championships (both regular season and MAAC men's soccer tournament, MAAC Tournament), consistently making NCAA Tournament appearances, and often holding national rankings in both the NSCAA/Adidas Poll as well as that of CollegeSoccerNews. Peter Vermes
Peter Joseph Vermes (; born November 21, 1966) is an American professional soccer coach and former player. He is currently the head coach of Sporting Kansas City in Major League Soccer. As of 2022, Vermes is currently the longest-tenured head coach in MLS and has won four major trophies as a manager, the second most of all active coaches in MLS. As a player, Vermes spent several seasons playing in Hungary, the Netherlands, before establishing himself as a defender in Major League Soccer, playing for MetroStars, Colorado Rapids and the Kansas City Wizards. Jeff Nattans
Jeff Nattans is a retired American soccer defender who played professionally in the American Professional Soccer League and USISL Pro League. Nattans graduated from Calvert Hall College High School. He attended Loyola University Maryland. He played on the men’s soccer team from 1986 to 1989, earning Academic All American recognition in 1988 and 1989. Nattans also played on the school’s basketball team of which he was co-captain during the 1988-89 season. He graduated summa cum laude. Nattans also earned a masters in business administration from Harvard. On May 9, 2008, Loyola inducted Nattans into its Athletic Hall of Fame. Joe Koziol
Joe Koziol (born March 26, 1967) is a retired American soccer player who played professionally in the American Professional Soccer League, Major Indoor Soccer League and the National Professional Soccer League. He also won three indoor USISL titles with the Baltimore Bays. Youth Koziol, younger brother of Stan Koziol, was born in Passaic, but grew up in Clifton, New Jersey. Joseph Stanley Koziol (July 29, 1965 – March 3, 2014) was an American soccer midfielder who played professionally in the Major Indoor Soccer League, National Professional Soccer League and American Professional Soccer League. John Houska (May 13, 1956 – September 7, 2020) was an American soccer goalkeeper who played professionally in the North American Soccer League and Major Indoor Soccer League. Nicholas "Nick" Kropfelder (February 19, 1923 - August 4, 2012) was an American soccer center forward. He played professionally in the American Soccer League, leading the league twice in scoring. He was inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame in 1996. Playing career Kropfelder grew up in Baltimore where he played baseball, basketball, and soccer at Mount Saint Joseph College, a secondary school, from 1938 to 1940. Bryan Harkin
Bryan Harkin (born October 29, 1980 in Derry) is a Northern Irish soccer player who plays for Crystal Palace Baltimore in the USSF Second Division. Career College and amateur Harkin played college soccer at Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut from 1999-2002. In 2000, he set the Stags' single season assist record with 9 while helping lead the team to a No. 15 national ranking, and in 2002 he was selected as a Regional All-American by the NSCAA. Fairfield Stags Men's Soccer
The Fairfield Stags men's soccer team represents Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut and competes in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) of NCAA Division I. The Stags play their home games at Lessing Field on the campus of Fairfield University. The team was ranked nationally in 1998 (24th), 2000 (15th), 2001 (12th), 2005 (24th), 2006 (15th) 2007 (17th) and 2011 (25th) and competed in the NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Tournament in 1999, 2006, 2008, and 2011. The 2006 team advanced to the second round in the NCAA Tournament after defeating in-state rival University of Connecticut, 2–1.
