Loyd Colson
Loyd Albert Colson (born November 4, 1947 in Wellington, Texas) is a former Major League Baseball pitcher that batted and threw right-handed. Colson pitched the last two innings for the New York Yankees in one game on September 25, 1970 against the Detroit Tigers at Yankee Stadium. In his only career game, he gave up three hits, one earned run and struck out three batters. He finished with a 0–0 record with a 4.50 ERA. Pitcher
In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws ("pitches") the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter, who attempts to either make contact with the pitched ball or draw a walk. In the numbering system used to record defensive plays, the pitcher is assigned the number 1. The pitcher is often considered the most important player on the defensive side of the game, and as such is situated at the right end of the defensive spectrum.
