Low Spirit
Low Spirit Recordings was a German techno record label. History Founded in 1986 by Maximilian Lenz ( Westbam), Fabian Lenz (DJ Dick), William Röttger, Klaus Jankuhn and Sandra Molzahn. The first record was WestBam's ''17 - This Is Not a Boris Becker Song'' which reached #1 in the Berlin dance music hitlist. Low Spirit became acquainted with the Love Parade event from its early years and the theme for its 1997 event, titled ''Sonic Empire'', has reached the top of the German single charts. The label was later praised for "having made German techno history" by "Raveline" magazine. In the 1990s, Low Spirit was also owner of the event ''Mayday''. The label was shut down and all future distributions by Low Spirit were taken over by Kontor Records in 2007. Lexy & K-Paul
Lexy & K-Paul are DJs from Berlin consisting of Alexander Gerlach ("Lexy", born 14 January 1976 in Dresden) and Kai Michael Paul, formerly Kai Michael Fuchs ("K-Paul", born 5 November 1973 in Berlin). Lexy is also a member of the project Die Raketen, which also consists of Adel Dior and Jan-Eric Scholz. K-Paul formed duo Fuchs und Horn together with Horn. Their music was released on Low Spirit Recordings, which is owned by WestBam, until 2007, when they formed their own label MusicIsMusic, distributed by Kontor Records. Additional information In 2001, Lexy, together with Mark Spoon, acted in the film ''Be.Angeled'' by Roman Kuhn. In 2005, ''The DVD'' was released showing the six-year-old band's history. Tanith (DJ)
Thomas Andrezak (born 4 August 1962 in Bad Kreuznach), better known as Tanith, is a German DJ and producer of electronic dance music. From 1990 to 1996 he was one of the most popular German Tekkno DJs. In 1987, Andrezak changed his name and moved from Wiesbaden to Berlin at the beginning of the Acid House scene. He was the resident DJ in Berlin's first Acid House club, the Ufo. In January 1990, he organized his own night session, the ''Cyberspace'', at Ufo II. At that time, he also worked in the ''Mittwochsclub'' and was a resident DJ in many Tekknozid raves. Tanith was the first Tekkno DJ and is considered one of the founders of the techno culture in Germany. In 1990, he wrote for the specialized magazine ''Front Page'', and hosted regular after hour parties at the "Exit" club located in the old Ahornblatt building, after the Afterhour club ''"Walfisch"'' in Köpenicker Strasse closed. RMB (band)
RMB is the name of a German electronic music duo, founded in 1993 by musicians and producers Farid Gharadjedaghi and Rolf Maier-Bode (the latter whose initials form the band name). History The two met in 1991 while working for the Adam & Eve label, Maier-Bode as a producer and Gharadjedaghi as A&R. After two releases under the RMB name, they split from Adam & Eve in 1993 to join the Low Spirit label. Their 1996 single, "Spring" was a gold record in Germany, with sales over 250,000 copies, and the follow-up "Reality" reached #11 in the Media Control charts. After this, they worked with Sharam Jey and Talla 2XLC. In 1998, they founded their own label, Various Silver Recordings. Through their association with German rave culture, they have engaged in environmental activism, joining Greenpeace in protest against the Moruroa atol nuclear testing, to which they dedicated the track "Our Trip to Mururoa", a B-side found in the single "Passport to Heaven". Caroline Hervé (born 1973), known professionally as Miss Kittin, is a French electronic music producer, DJ, singer, and songwriter. Since rising to prominence in 1998 for her singles " 1982" and "Frank Sinatra" with The Hacker, she has worked with other musicians such as Chicks on Speed, Felix da Housecat and Golden Boy. She released her debut solo album ''I Com'' in 2004, a second, ''BatBox'', in 2008, and a third, ''Calling from the Stars'', in 2013. Marusha
Marusha Aphrodite Gleiß (born 18 November 1966), known by her stage name Marusha, is a German-Greek electronic music disc jockey, producer and television presenter who had hits in the mid-1990s including her 1994 single " Somewhere Over the Rainbow". Career Marusha was born in Nuremberg. She started as a radio disc jockey in 1991 with her weekly show "Dancehall" on Berlin station DT64. When the station closed she moved to Fritz, another Berlin radio station, and presented a weekly slot called "Rave Satellite" until 2007. In 2007 she was also a member of the jury in the German version of Popstars. From 1993 to 1996 Marusha presented a television dance music show called "Feuerreiter" for regional broadcaster ORB, which later aired nationally via ARD. Scooter mentions Marusha in their 1994 song Hyper Hyper, during which lead singer H.P. Baxxter reads out the name of numerous DJs. Mark 'Oh
Marko Albrecht (born 23 June 1970), known by his stage name Mark 'Oh, is a German disc jockey and electronic music producer. Biography Starting out with a rock band titled "Line Up", Albrecht decided to turn to the ever-growing rave scene under the name "Mark'Oh". Entering the scene as a DJ initially, Albrecht moved on to producing music - scoring chart success across Europe in 1993 with "Randy (Never Stop That Feeling)". The following year, hit single "Love Song" was to follow before scoring his first number one single in his native Germany and in Sweden with "Tears Don't Lie" (which samples the 1974 German hit "Tränen lügen nicht" by Michael Holm, which itself is a cover of the Italian hit "Soleado", released the same year). Though this was his sole number one hit in Europe, nearly two decades on, Albrecht is still releasing singles and producing albums.
