Lovesighs – An Entertainment
''Lovesighs – An Entertainment'' is an EP released by No-Man in 1992 on the One Little Indian label. It comprised the band's singles and B-sides from 1990 and 1991. An ambitious and diverse collection of sensual songs and innovative instrumentals, the album combined influences from dub, dream pop, classical and hip-hop music. Both "Colours" and "Days in the Trees" were singles of the week in ''Melody Maker'' and '' Sounds'' and on Channel Four's teletext. "Lovesighs" was trailed by a further single, "Ocean Song". "Days in the Trees" shares its main melody with the Porcupine Tree track "Mute" (from 1994's '' Yellow Hedgerow Dreamscape''). No-Man
No-Man are an English art pop duo, formed in 1987 as No Man Is an Island (Except the Isle of Man) by singer Tim Bowness and multi-instrumentalist Steven Wilson. The band has so far produced seven studio albums and a number of singles/outtakes collections (including 2006's career retrospective ''All the Blue Changes''). The band was once lauded as "conceivably the most important English group since The Smiths" by ''Melody Maker'' music newspaper, and a 2017 article of '' Drowned in Sound'' described them as "probably the most underrated band of the last 25 years". ''Sounds'' was a UK weekly pop/rock music newspaper, published from 10 October 1970 to 6 April 1991. It was known for giving away posters in the centre of the paper (initially black and white, then colour from late 1971) and later for covering heavy metal (especially the new wave of British heavy metal (NWOBHM)) and punk and Oi! music in its late 1970s–early 1980s heyday. "Colours" is a song written and recorded by British singer-songwriter Donovan for his second album, '' Fairytale''. "Colours" was released as a single in the United Kingdom on 28 May 1965 through Pye Records (Pye 7N 15866) and a few months later in the United States through Hickory Records (Hickory 45-1324). The single was backed with "To Sing for You" on the UK release and " Josie" on the US release. Both B-side selections came from Donovan's first album, '' What's Bin Did and What's Bin Hid'' (1965). Tim Bowness (born 29 November 1963) is an English singer and songwriter primarily known for his work as part of the band No-Man, a long-term project formed in 1987 with Porcupine Tree's Steven Wilson. The following is a listing of officially released works by the English band Porcupine Tree. The band has released eleven major studio albums and 7 EPs, as well as many limited editions and revamped material. At the time Steven Wilson was going to sign to the Delerium label, he owned a lot of material recorded during the mid- and later '80s that he had recorded subsequently on three demo tapes - '' Tarquin's Seaweed Farm'', ''Love, Death & Mussolini'' and '' The Nostalgia Factory''. He sent copies of those tapes to people he felt would be interested in the recordings, asking them to spread the word. Delerium originally intended to release all of that material in a double debut album, but Wilson decided to just pick the songs he considered the best ones. Porcupine Tree are an English rock band formed by musician Steven Wilson in 1987. During an initial career spanning more than twenty years, they earned critical acclaim from critics and fellow musicians, developed a cult following, and became an influence for new artists.
