Loveless Fascination
''Loveless Fascination'' is the fourth album by Starship (band), Starship. It is the first studio album of new material released by the band since 1989's ''Love Among the Cannibals'', with Mickey Thomas (singer), Mickey Thomas as the lone remaining holdover from the group's 1980's line-up. ''Loveless Fascination'' was produced by longtime Foreigner (band), Foreigner bassist Jeff Pilson, who was the main songwriter on the album, and helped contribute a harder edge to the band's sound. Frontman Thomas said "It's been a long time coming. With each passing year, the bar was raised higher and higher for this album. I'd be lying if I didn't tell you the expectations caused me a few sleepless nights." Starship (band)
Starship is an American rock band from San Francisco, California. Initially a continuation of Jefferson Starship, it underwent a change in musical direction, the subsequent loss of personnel, and a lawsuit settlement that led to a name change. Starship's 1985 album, '' Knee Deep in the Hoopla'', was certified platinum by the RIAA, and included two singles that went to number one on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart: " We Built This City" and "Sara". Their follow up album, '' No Protection'', released in 1987, was certified gold and featured the band's third number one single, "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now". Diane Warren
Diane Eve Warren (born September 7, 1956) is an American songwriter. She has received several awards including a Grammy Award, a Primetime Emmy Award, two Golden Globe Awards, three ''Billboard'' Music Awards and an Honorary Academy Award. Warren's career was jump-started in 1985 with " Rhythm of the Night" by DeBarge. In the late 1980s, she joined forces with the UK music company EMI, where she became the first songwriter in the history of '' Billboard'' magazine to have seven hits, all by different artists, on the singles chart at the same time, prompting EMI's UK Chairman Peter Reichardt to call her "the most important songwriter in the world". Chris Frazier
Chris Frazier (born September 7, 1967) is an American drummer. He is known in the professional ranks since he started recording and touring with guitarist Steve Vai from 1985 through 2001. Frazier was the touring drummer with classic rock singer Eddie Money from 2003 through 2006, when he was approached to become the drummer of veteran rock band Whitesnake. Frazier was called up by David Coverdale in May 2006, Coverdale took an instant liking to him. Frazier had done work extensive with Whitesnake's guitar player, Doug Aldrich in the past. Frazier was with Whitesnake through December 2010 and appeared on their 2008 album Good to Be Bad and toured with Whitesnake in support of the album. Mark Schulman
Mark Schulman (born September 4, 1961 in Los Angeles, California) is an American musician and corporate speaker. He performed with Cher as her tour drummer on her D2K Tour. Schulman is also a session drummer as well as a music producer, audio engineer and co-owner of West Triad Studios, a recording venue located in Venice, California. Childhood and education Schulman was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. John Roth (musician)
John Roth is an American guitarist, best known for his work with the rock bands Winger, Black Oak Arkansas, and Giant, has been touring and recording with national acts since the mid-1980s. Biography Roth got his start at the age of 19 when Jim Dandy, lead vocalist of Black Oak Arkansas, asked him to join the band as lead guitarist in 1986. After touring the U.S. and Canada with Black Oak in the mid 1980s, Roth joined forces with Survivor's lead vocalist Jimi Jamison in 1989 to record Jamison's first solo release ''When Love Comes Down''. The first single, "Rock Hard", co-written by Roth, was featured on the hit television series ''Baywatch''. Detroit Rock City (film)
''Detroit Rock City'' is a 1999 American teen comedy film directed by Adam Rifkin and written by Carl V. Dupré. It tells of four teenage boys in a Kiss tribute band who try to see their idols in a concert in Detroit in 1978. Comparable with other rock films such as ''Rock 'n' Roll High School'', '' Dazed and Confused'', and ''I Wanna Hold Your Hand'', it tells a coming-of-age story through a filter of 1970s music and culture in the United States. It took its title from the Kiss song of the same name. The film was shot at Cedarbrae Collegiate Institute in Scarborough, Toronto and other Ontario locations including Copps Coliseum in Hamilton. Richard James Page (born May 16, 1953) is an American musician who is best known as the lead singer and bassist of 1980s band Mr. Mister.
