''Lovebubble'' is the fourth and final studio album by American synthpop and electronic band Book of Love, released on June 15, 1993, by Sire Records. History New York-based synthpop quartet Book of Love released their fourth record, ''Lovebubble'', two years following their mostly overlooked album, 1991's '' Candy Carol''. ''Lovebubble'' was released with little fanfare amidst the changing musical tides of the early nineties with grunge dominating the alternative landscape. Before work began on the band's fourth album, the band had an important band meeting. In a 2009 interview, Susan Ottaviano stated, "We asked each other, 'Do you think we can do it again?' Book of Love is an American synthpop and electronic band, formed in 1983 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and later based in New York City. Led by vocalist Susan Ottaviano, the band also includes keyboardists Ted Ottaviano (no relation to Susan), Lauren Roselli and Jade Lee. The band gained its first exposure as the opening act for two Depeche Mode tours in 1985 and 1986. The group has been described by the ''Houston Press'' as "forward thinking" for lyrics dealing with sexual orientation and gender roles. History Book of Love released their third record two years following their moderately successful album, ''Lullaby''. After having substantial success on college radio stations and the dancefloor in the eighties, ''Candy Carol'' was released amidst the changing musical landscape of the early nineties. George Marino (April 15, 1947 – June 4, 2012) was an American mastering engineer known for working on albums by rock bands starting in the late 1960s. Biography Marino was born on April 15, 1947, in the New York City borough The Bronx. He attended Christopher Columbus High School there and learned to play the saxophone and bass fiddle in the high school band and was classically trained on guitar. Marino broke into the music business as a guitarist playing rock and roll in local New York City bands such as The Chancellors and The New Sounds Ltd. until most of the band members were drafted into the service for the war in Vietnam. In 1967, Marino landed his first job in the industry as a librarian and assistant at Capitol Studios. Ted Jensen (born September 19, 1954) is an American mastering engineer, known for having mastered many recordings, including the Eagles' ''Hotel California'', Green Day's '' American Idiot'' and Norah Jones' ''Come Away with Me''. Biography Ted Jensen was born to Carl and Margaret (Anning) Jensen, both of whom were musicians. Carl had studied at Yale University. Margaret went to Oberlin College & Conservatory and Skidmore College and was also a pilot. Carl and Margaret met on a train while going to a choral workshop. Teddy Osei
Teddy Osei (born December 1937) is a musician and saxophone player from Ghana. Osei is best known as the leader of the Afro-pop band Osibisa, founded in 1969. Born in Kumasi, Osei was introduced to musical instruments while still a child. He began to play the saxophone while attempting to create a band with his college friends in the coastal city of Sekondi. After graduating from college, he worked as a building inspector for a year before creating a band called "The Comets." The Comets enjoyed brief popularity before Osei traveled to London in 1962. He received a grant from the Ghanaian government to study at a private music and drama school for three years, before being forced to leave by a regime change in Ghana.
