Love Missile F1-11
"Love Missile F1-11" is the debut single by British band Sigue Sigue Sputnik, released in 1986 from their debut album '' Flaunt It''. It was the band's biggest hit, reaching number three on the UK Singles Chart. The track was produced by Giorgio Moroder, after Prince rejected a request to oversee production, complaining the track was "too violent." The band approached Moroder due to his work on a number of Hollywood film scores, as well as his early Donna Summer records, with the latter inspiring the band's trademark repetitive, synthetic bass sound. Style The song features vocals with high echo and uses multiple sound effects to create a futuristic atmosphere. The 'Ultraviolence Mix' begins with a sample from Stanley Kubrick's 1971 film ''A Clockwork Orange'' where Malcolm McDowell's character, Alex, professes his fondness for a bit "of the old ultra-violence". Sigue Sigue Sputnik were a British new wave band formed in 1982 by former Generation X bassist Tony James. The band have had three UK top-40 hit singles, including "Love Missile F1-11" and " 21st Century Boy". The Kent Music Report was a weekly record chart of Australian music singles and albums which was compiled by music enthusiast David Kent from May 1974 through to January 1999. The chart was re-branded the Australian Music Report (AMR) in July 1987. From June 1988, the Australian Recording Industry Association, which had been using the top 50 portion of the report under licence since mid-1983, chose to produce their own listing as the ARIA Charts. The GfK Entertainment charts are the official music charts in Germany and are gathered and published by GfK Entertainment (formerly Media Control and Media Control GfK International), a subsidiary of GfK, on behalf of Bundesverband Musikindustrie. Springbok Radio (spelled ''Springbokradio'' in Afrikaans, ) was a South African nationwide radio station that operated from 1950 to 1986. History SABC's decision in December 1945 to develop a commercial service was constrained by post-war financial issues.
