Love Among Freaks
Love Among Freaks was an alternative rock/funk rock band, founded in the New Jersey, USA area. Beginning Love Among Freaks was formed in the early 90s by Steve Smyth and Alexis Lehman. They were writing and recording original music with Steve singing and playing drums and Lex playing guitar and bass. In 1993 Scott Angley joined on guitar and Jay Kendall on drums. This version of the band was responsible for the ''Clerks'' soundtrack, which was originally recorded in 1993 and re-recorded in early 1994. Shortly after the recording of ''Clerks'', Jay decided to move on and Bob Pantella took over on drums at the recommendation of Bob Butterfield. Pantella had previously played in Raging Slab. Over the next two years, the band would record 3 EPs, appear on a few compilation albums, and play the NY-NJ-PA area to build a following, picking up Eric Donohue on keyboards for a brief period. Funk rock is a fusion genre that mixes elements of funk and rock. ''Chasing Amy'' is a 1997 American romantic comedy-drama film written and directed by Kevin Smith and starring Ben Affleck, Joey Lauren Adams, and Jason Lee. The film is about a male comic artist (Affleck) who falls in love with a lesbian woman (Adams), to the displeasure of his best friend (Lee). It is the third film in Smith's View Askewniverse series. The film was originally inspired by a brief scene from an early film by a friend of Smith's. ''Vulgar'' is a 2000 American black comedy crime thriller film written and directed by Bryan Johnson and produced by Monica Hampton for Kevin Smith's View Askew Productions. It features multiple actors from the View Askewniverse. The film is the tale of the character Vulgar, a clown who appeared in the original View Askew Productions logo. Monster Magnet is an American rock band. Hailing from Red Bank, New Jersey, the group was founded in 1989 by Dave Wyndorf (vocals and guitar), John McBain (guitar) and Tim Cronin (vocals and drums); they have since gone through several lineup changes, leaving Wyndorf as the only constant member. Atomic Bitchwax
The Atomic Bitchwax is an American stoner rock band from New Jersey, formed in 1992 by bassist/singer/songwriter Chris Kosnik, guitarist Ed Mundell, and drummer Keith Ackerman. They did not release their first full-length album until 1999, upon signing with Tee Pee Records. Mixing elements of 1960s psychedelic rock and 1970s riff rock filtered through modern progressive rock, their music has appeared in TV shows such as '' Jackass'', ''Homewrecker'', and various Fox Sports broadcasts. The first version of the group became a local jam band playing the New Jersey and New York area.
