Love, Ire And Song
''Love Ire & Song'' is the second studio album by English singer-songwriter Frank Turner, released on 31 March 2008 by Xtra Mile Recordings. On 26 January 2009, the album was re-released as a deluxe version, including the '' First Three Years'' compilation album. ''Love Ire & Song'' was re-released on 21 July 2009 through Epitaph Records, where Frank Turner had recently signed to. In October 2008, Turner released the track "Long Live the Queen" as a benefit single for the Breast Cancer Campaign, in honour of a close friend who succumbed to the disease. Production ''Love Ire & Song'' was entirely written by Turner, and recorded on a farm near Turner's home-town of Winchester. It was co-produced by Turner and guitarist Ben Lloyd, who also contributed electric guitar and harmonica performances. Turner's live drummer Nigel Powell provided percussion and keyboard performances on the album. London indie band The Holloways provided backing vocals on "Photosynthesis". Album Title In ... Frank Turner
Francis Edward Turner (born 28 December 1981), is an English Punk rock, punk and Folk music, folk singer-songwriter from Meonstoke, Hampshire. He began his career as the vocalist of post-hardcore band Million Dead, then embarked upon a primarily acoustic-based solo career following the band's split in 2005. In the studio and during live performances, Turner is accompanied by his backing band, The Sleeping Souls, which consists of Ben Lloyd (guitar, mandolin), Tarrant Anderson (bass), Matt Nasir (piano, mandolin) and Callum Green (drums). To date, Turner has released nine solo albums, four rarities compilation albums, one retrospective "best of" album, one split album and five Extended play, EPs. Gram Parsons
Ingram Cecil Connor III (November 5, 1946 – September 19, 1973) who was known professionally as Gram Parsons, was an American singer, songwriter, guitarist, and pianist who recorded as a solo artist and with the International Submarine Band, the Byrds, and the Flying Burrito Brothers, popularizing what he called "Cosmic American Music", a hybrid of country, rhythm and blues, Soul music, soul, Folk music, folk, and Rock music, rock. Parsons was born in Winter Haven, Florida, and developed an interest in country music while attending Harvard University. "Long Live the Queen" was the third and final single from UK based songwriter Frank Turner's second album ''Love Ire & Song''. It was released as a digital download and as a 7" split single along with Crazy Arm's "Still to Keep". The 7" split was released on 22 March 2010 to celebrate his huge tour in March 2010, and features a live recording of "Long Live the Queen" recorded live at London's Shepherd's Bush Empire and taken from Frank Turner's 2010 live DVD ''Take to the Road''. "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock", commonly known as "Prufrock", is the first professionally published poem by American-born British poet T. S. Eliot (1888–1965). Eliot began writing "Prufrock" in February 1910, and it was first published in the June 1915 issue of '' Poetry: A Magazine of Verse'' at the instigation of Ezra Pound (1885–1972). It was later printed as part of a twelve-poem pamphlet (or chapbook) titled ''Prufrock and Other Observations'' in 1917. ''Sleep Is for the Week'' is the debut album by UK based songwriter Frank Turner, released on 15 January 2007 by Xtra Mile Recordings. In a 2008 interview, Turner claimed that the album was "a snapshot of pretty much exactly one year of my life". The general reception by the music press was largely positive. The artwork for the album sleeve was drawn by Chris Pell. 10th anniversary On 27 January 2017, Xtra Mile released the 10th anniversary editions of Sleep is for the Week. The Holloways
The Holloways are an English four-piece indie rock band from North London. Their single "Generator" reached number 14 in the UK Singles Chart on 11 June 2007. They have had five No.1 singles on the UK Indie Chart and several Top 40 singles. Their debut album, ''So This Is Great Britain?'', was awarded 8 out of 10 by ''NME''. Former band member Rob Skipper died on 3 October 2014 in Brighton from a heroin overdose. Formation David Jackson and Bryn Fowler established the beginnings of the band, finding Rob Skipper at the live music venue Nambucca on Holloway Road in North London. They would meet later to jam together, playing in future drummer Dave Danger's room (situated above the club).
