Louisiana Highway 138
Louisiana Highway 138 (LA 138) is a state highway located in Morehouse Parish, Louisiana, Morehouse Parish, Louisiana. It runs in a north–south direction from Louisiana Highway 134, LA 134 south of Collinston, Louisiana, Collinston to a junction with U.S. Route 165 in Louisiana, U.S. Highway 165 (US 165), U.S. Route 425 in Louisiana, U.S. Highway 425 (US 425), and Louisiana Highway 2, LA 2 in Mer Rouge, Louisiana, Mer Rouge. A largely rural route, LA 138 connects the small villages of Collinston and Mer Rouge, located northeast of Monroe, Louisiana, Monroe. Its southern terminus (LA 134) leads to Monroe in neighboring Ouachita Parish, Louisiana, Ouachita Parish, as well as the village of Oak Ridge, Louisiana, Oak Ridge in southern Morehouse Parish. Louisiana Department Of Transportation And Development
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) is a state government organization in the United States, in charge of maintaining public transportation, roadways, bridges, canals, select levees, floodplain management, port facilities, commercial vehicles, and aviation which includes 69 airports, in the U.S. state of Louisiana. The agency has approximately five thousand personnel on staff and an operating budget of $2.3 billion. DOTD operations are run through nine district offices across the state. The current DOTD Secretary is Shawn D. Wilson, appointed in January 2016 by Governor John Bel Edwards. Other functions of the DOTD are Dams (Dam Safety Program), flood control (Floodplain Management, water resource management (wells), and maintaining state-run ferries and moveable bridge status.
