Louise Bédard
Louise Bédard (born 1955) is a Canadian dancer, choreographer and teacher who is active on the contemporary dance. Biography After completing her dance training, notably with Groupe Nouvelle Aire, Louise Bédard was quickly noticed as a talented performer. During the 1980s, she collaborated with many choreographers, among them Jean-Pierre Perreault, Paul-André Fortier, Ginette Laurin, Jeanne Renaud, Sylvain Émard. Already in 1984, Bédard was awarded the Canada Council’s Jacqueline-Lemieux Award, for her outstanding work. In 1987, she co-founded the Circuit-Est centre chorégraphique that currently provides her with rehearsal and creation space. A highly soft-after performer by a generation of choreographers, Louise Bédard formed her own company in 1990: Louise Bédard Danse. Drummondville
Drummondville is a city in the Centre-du-Québec region of Quebec, located east of Montreal on the Saint-François River. The population as of the Canada 2021 Census was 79,258. The mayor of Drummondville is Stéphanie Lacoste. Drummondville is the seat of Drummond Regional County Municipality, and of the Judicial districts of Quebec, judicial district of Drummond. History Drummondville was founded in June 1815 by Lieutenant-Colonel Frederick Heriot. The purpose of the town was to provide a home for United Kingdom, British soldiers in the War of 1812, and to guard the Saint-François (St Francis) River against United States, American attacks. The town was named after Sir Gordon Drummond, the Lieutenant Governor of Upper Canada between 1813 and 1816. Contemporary history, in English-language historiography, is a subset of modern history that describes the historical period from approximately 1945 to the present. Marianna Gartner
Marianna Gartner (born 1963) is a Canadian painter. Gartner was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, but moved to Calgary, Alberta during her early childhood. She has also lived and worked in Budapest and Berlin. Gartner has exhibited and been collected mainly in Berlin, Paris, New York, Vienna, Budapest and Zurich. She currently lives and works in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.
