Louis Tellier
Louis Tellier (December 24, 1842 – June 17, 1935) was a Canadian lawyer, politician, and judge. Biography Born in Berthier-en-Haut, Canada East, the son of Zephirin and Luce (Ferland) Tellier, Tellier completed his classical education at Joliette College in Joliette, Quebec. He studied law with Hon. Louis François Georges Baby, Joliette, and finished with Hon. Hubert W. Chagnon, in Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec. He was called to the Quebec Bar in 1866, and practiced law in St. Hyacinthe. He was appointed a Queen's Counsel in 1882. From 1863 to 1873, he was Deputy Prothonotary of the Superior Court, and Deputy Clerk of the Circuit Court for the district. From 1873 to 1878 he was a Crown Attorney. He was elected to the House of Commons of Canada for St. Hyacinthe in the 1878 election; he then defeated Honoré Mercier who was running for the Liberal Party. Louis Delorme
Louis Delorme (December 29, 1824 – June 18, 1895) was a Quebec lawyer and political figure. He represented St. Hyacinthe in the House of Commons of Canada as a Liberal member from 1870 to 1878. Early life He was born in Montreal in 1824, the son of Pierre Delorme and Elizabeth Burke, and was educated at Saint Sulpice College and the college of St. Hyacinthe. Career and education He studied law and was called to the bar in 1847. Delorme was first elected to the federal parliament in an 1870 by-election held after the death of Alexandre-Édouard Kierzkowski. He was mayor of St. Hyacinthe and warden for the county of St. Hyacinthe. Delorme also served as director for the Bank of St. Hyacinthe. Luc-Normand Tellier (born October 10, 1944) is a Professor Emeritus in spatial economics of the University of Quebec at Montreal. Education and teaching After teaching for two years (1964–1966) at the Collège Saint-André of Kigali, Rwanda, as a Canadian Peace Corps (CUSO/SUCO) volunteer, Tellier studied both economics and city planning. He obtained a bachelor's degree in Economics (1968) and a master's degree in City planning (1971) from the University of Montreal, as well as a master's degree (1971) and a Ph.D. (1973) in Regional science from the "Ivy League" University of Pennsylvania. Biography Born in Joliette, Quebec, Tellier earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Ottawa and his law degree from the University of Oxford. He entered Canada's civil service in the 1970s and rose through the ranks of the federal bureaucracy through several high-profile deputy minister portfolios, culminating as the nation's top civil servant from August 12, 1985 to June 30, 1992, when he was appointed Clerk of the Privy Council, in the Privy Council Office of Canada, during Brian Mulroney's ministry. Maurice Tellier (June 14, 1896 – March 28, 1966) was a lawyer and political figure in Quebec. He represented Montcalm in the Legislative Assembly of Quebec from 1936 to 1939 and from 1944 to 1962 as a Union Nationale member. Tellier was Speaker of the Legislative Assembly from 1955 to 1960. Sir Joseph-Mathias Tellier (January 15, 1861 – October 18, 1952) was a Canadian politician born in Sainte-Mélanie, Quebec, Canada. Biography He was a Quebec Conservative Party leader, but never Premier (his party lost the 1912 election, and Lomer Gouin became Premier of Quebec) . He was in the Legislative Assembly of Quebec from 1892 to 1916, as a Member for the riding of Joliette . After his studies at Université Laval, he was admitted to the Barreau du Quebec and he practiced law for over 15 years.
