Louis Nicolay
Louis Nicolay was a Belgian sports delegate and one-day (caretaker) manager of the Belgium national football team. Managerial career After the dismissal of Belgian national coach André Vandewyer, no successor was assigned. Therefore Nicolay, who was part of the Belgian selection committee, took over the managerial role for one game in Belgium's 1958 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign. This match on 4 September 1957 was a success as the national squad beat Iceland by 2–5. After this match, the Hungarian Géza Toldi Géza Toldi (11 February 1909 – 16 August 1985) was a Hungarian footballer. André Vandewyer was a Belgian footballer and coach born 21 June 1909 in Tirlemont (Belgium), died 22 October 1992 in Tirlemont. Biography Vandewyer begins to football in his own town by RRC Tirlemont in 1924 and make his debut in 1926 in second division. After five years he move to Union SG. He was goalkeeper for the legendary Union Saint-Gilloise team: the famous ''Union 60'' were unbeaten in Division 1 for 60 matches, with three consecutive titles in this period, between 9 January 1933 (Union-Lierse SK, 2–2) and 10 February 1935 ( Daring Bruxelles-Union 2–0). 1958 FIFA World Cup
The 1958 FIFA World Cup was the sixth FIFA World Cup, a quadrennial football tournament for men's senior national teams, and was played in Sweden from 8 to 29 June 1958. It was the first FIFA World Cup to be played in a Nordic country. Brazil beat Sweden 5–2 in the final in the Stockholm suburb of Solna to claim their first title. Géza Toldi (11 February 1909 – 16 August 1985) was a Hungarian footballer. He played for Ferencvárosi TC, and from 1934 to 1938 for the Hungarian national team, serving as captain in 1936. He scored a goal in the 1938 FIFA World Cup. Club career He grew up in the railway houses of Avar Street in Buda, Németvölgy. He began playing football in his place of residence, featuring for one of the local teams, ITE, in the fourth division of the youth championship, and he was pivotal in helping the club climb one division at a time almost every year, and in 1928 they also won the first division championship. In 1928, he was noticed at the youth federation's Christmas round-robin tournament.
