Louis B. Meyer
Louis B. Meyer (July 15, 1933 – December 25, 1999) was an American jurist who served as an associate justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court. Meyer was born in Marion, North Carolina but spent most of his youth in Enfield, North Carolina, where his mentor was local attorney and politician Joseph Branch. He earned an undergraduate degree at Wake Forest College and then served as an officer in the United States Army's Chemical Corps. Meyer returned to Wake Forest to complete his law degree in 1960. He then clerked for North Carolina Supreme Court Justice R. Hunt Parker, who also hailed from Enfield. After a stint as an agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Meyer engaged in private practice in Wilson, North Carolina, where he also served as City Attorney. James Baxter Hunt Jr. (born May 16, 1937) is an American politician and retired attorney who was the List of governors of North Carolina, 69th and 71st Governor of North Carolina (1977–1985, and 1993–2001). He is the longest-serving governor in the state's history. Hunt is tied with former Ohio governor Jim Rhodes for the List of longest-serving governors of U.S. states, sixth-longest gubernatorial tenure in post-Constitutional U.S. history at days. Wilson, North Carolina
Wilson is a city in and the county seat of Wilson County, North Carolina, United States. Located approximately east of the capital city of Raleigh, it is served by the interchange of Interstate 95 and U.S. Route 264. Wilson had an estimated population of 49,459 in 2019, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, and is also an anchor city of the Rocky Mount-Wilson-Roanoke Rapids CSA, with a total population of 297,726 as of 2018. In the early 21st century, Wilson was ranked as 18th in size among North Carolina's 500-plus municipalities.
