Loudoun County Board Of Supervisors
Loudoun County, Virginia is divided into eight magisterial districts: Algonkian, Ashburn, Blue Ridge, Broad Run, Catoctin, Dulles, Leesburg, and Sterling. The magisterial districts each elect one supervisor to the Board of Supervisors which governs Loudoun County. There is also a Chair elected by the county at-large, bringing total Board membership to nine. A Vice-Chair is selected by the Board from among its membership. The current Chair is Phyllis Randall. The current Vice-Chair is Koran Saines, the Sterling District Supervisor. He has served as Vice-Chair since January 2020. Board members serve four-year terms. Salaries for the current Board term of 2020-2023 were set by the previous Board in July 2017. Phyllis Randall
Phyllis Joycelyn Randall (born ) is an American politician and mental-health therapist. A Democratic Party (United States), Democrat, she is chair at-large of the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors, Virginia and the first African Americans, African-American woman to chair a county board in Virginia. She was also the defendant in a notable 2019 lawsuit, ''Davison v. Randall'', in which the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit ruled that the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, First Amendment precludes government officials from blocking constituents on official government social media accounts. Mount Gilead, Virginia
Mount Gilead is an unincorporated community in Loudoun County, Virginia. Mount Gilead lies atop an peak of Catoctin Mountain to the east of the North Fork Goose Creek. History Mount Gilead began in 1821 when Dr. Isaac Eaton purchased on the western slope of Catoctin Mountain on the road from Leesburg to Coes Mill on the North Fork of Goose Creek for the purpose of founding a health spa from the mountain springs there. In 1823 Eaton sold three half-acre lots on his property for the establishment of a settlement named Mount Gilead, after the biblical mountain. The following year, his dream was given legitimacy by the establishment of a post office in the village. By 1835 the village had extended to 22 lots and several streets had been laid out. Lovettsville, Virginia
Lovettsville is a town in Loudoun County, located near the very northern tip of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States. Settled primarily by German immigrants, the town was originally established in 1836. The population was 1,613 at the 2010 census and an estimated 2,198 in 2019. History Following the 1722 Treaty of St. Albans which established the Blue Ridge Mountains as the buffer between Native Americans and white settlers, German immigrants began arriving in the northern Loudoun Valley to farm the rich topsoil. Mark Herring
Mark Rankin Herring (born September 25, 1961) is an American lawyer and politician who served as the 47th Attorney General of Virginia from 2014 to 2022. A Democrat, he previously served in the Senate of Virginia since a 2006 special election, representing the 33rd district, made up of parts of Fairfax and Loudoun counties. Eugene Delgaudio
Eugene Anthony Delgaudio is an American politician. In 1981, he started Public Advocate of the United States, a conservative activist group known for its street theater, tax protests, and anti-LGBTQ+ efforts. Juli Ellyn Briskman ( Klyce; born March 16, 1967) is an American politician, marketing analyst, and journalist. She is a supervisor for the Algonkian District of Loudoun County, Virginia. Briskman garnered international attention for flipping off then-President Donald Trump in Sterling, Virginia, as he returned from a golfing trip in 2017. She once again received international attention when she was elected to the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors in 2019.
