Lebanese Basketball League
The Lebanese Basketball League is the top-tier professional men's basketball league in Lebanon. It is organized annually as a national championship with playoffs and a national cup by the Lebanese Basketball Federation (FLB). Currently, the league consists of 12 teams, of which six are located in Beirut. The most successful club in the history of the league is Al Riyadi who have won a record 16 championships. History The initial Lebanese basketball league was formed in as early as the 1950s; however, it was stopped during the Lebanese Civil War. In 1992, the league was reformed into a fully professional format. In 1997, Sporting Club (Al Riyadi) finished as Lebanese champions, allowing them to participate in the 1998 FIBA Asia Champions Cup . There, they finished 3rd place. Zouk Mosbeh
Zouk Mosbeh (Arabic: زوق مصبح) is a town and municipality in the Keserwan District of the Keserwan-Jbeil Governorate in Lebanon. It is located 12 kilometers north of Beirut. Zouk Mosbeh's average elevation is 170 meters above sea level and its total land area is 453 hectares. Its inhabitants are predominantly Maronite Catholics and Christians from other denominations. There are three schools in the town, one public and two private, which together enrolled a total of 4,633 students in 2005–2006. There were 167 businesses with over five employees operating in Zouk Mosbeh as of 2006. Zouk Mosbeh is well known for a cave called the King's Cave and is home to the Notre Dame University – Louaize. Syrian Basketball Super Cup
The Syrian Basketball Super Cup ( ar, كأس السوبر السوري لكرة السلة) is the top-tier level national domestic basketball super cup competition, that is played between professional clubs in Syria. It was founded in 2021 as a new super cup composed of the best Syrian clubs. In 2022, two clubs from the Lebanese Basketball League joined the Super Cup. Format According to the current format of the competition, the four best ranked teams from the previous season of the Syrian Basketball League, together with the winner of the Syrian Cup, will automatically qualify. In 2022, the Syrian Basketball Federation agreed with the Lebanese Basketball Federation that in the 2022-23 season, 2 clubs from the Lebanese Basketball League will also start in the competition. Keserwan District ( ar, قضاء كسروان, transliteration: ''Qaḍā' Kisrawān'') is a district (''qadaa'') in Keserwan-Jbeil Governorate, Lebanon, to the northeast of Lebanon's capital Beirut.
