Lou Walsh
Louis Andrew Walsh (29 March 1899 – 1 September 1978) was an Australian politician and a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly between 1953 and 1956 and again between 1962 and 1965. He was a member of the Labor Party. Early life Walsh was born at Yatteyattah near Milton, New South Wales and was the son of a dairy farmer. He was educated at Sydney Teachers College and the University of Sydney, graduating with a Bachelor of Economics degree in 1923. Walsh was employed as a high school teacher by the New South Wales Department of Education and became an official in the New South Wales Teachers Federation. He was elected an alderman of Randwick City Council between 1950 and 1953 and between 1959 and 1962 and was mayor in 1952. Milton, New South Wales
Milton is a village in the South Coast region of New South Wales, Australia, within the City of Shoalhaven. It was founded in 1860, named after the property of post master George Knight and became an important regional centre during the 19th Century. Today, Milton remains one of the two main commercial centres of the Milton-Ulladulla district, with a population at the of 1,663. It is a popular stopping place for travellers on the Princes Highway which runs through the centre of town. In recent years, Milton has undergone a resurgence largely influenced by the local tourism industry and an influx of residents to the district seeking a seachange. His/Her Worship the Mayor of Randwick is the head of Randwick City Council, which is the local government area covering the southeastern suburbs of Sydney in the State of New South Wales, Australia. First incorporated on 1 April 1859 as the Municipality of Randwick, under the terms of the ''Municipalities Act of 1858'', the first leaders of the Council were titled "Chairman" until the 1858 act was replaced by the ''Municipalities Act of 1867'', which introduced the title of "Mayor". On 28 June 1973, the council was dismissed and placed under the control of government administrators after an inquiry into the council's handling of Development Applications, finding significant undeclared conflicts-of-interest between councillors and local developments. Lionel Bowen
Lionel Frost Bowen, AC (28 December 1922 – 1 April 2012) was an Australian politician and senior Labor Party figure, serving in the ministries of Gough Whitlam and Bob Hawke. He was Deputy Prime Minister of Australia from 1983 to 1990. Personal life Bowen was born in the Sydney suburb of Ultimo. His father left the family when Bowen was aged 10 years and Bowen's mother looked after her invalid brother and elderly mother, while working as a cleaner. Bowen was educated at Cleveland Street public school, Marcellin College Randwick and Sydney University where he graduated with a LLB in 1946 and became a solicitor. He served in the Second Australian Imperial Force from 1941 to 1945, reaching the rank of corporal. Bowen and his wife, Claire, married in 1953 and had three daughters and five sons. Jack Renshaw
John Brophy Renshaw AC (8 August 190928 July 1987) was an Australian politician. He was Labor Premier of New South Wales from 30 April 1964 to 13 May 1965. He was the first New South Wales Premier born in the 20th century. Early life Jack Renshaw was born on 8 August 1909 near Wellington in central New South Wales. His parents were John Ignatius Renshaw and Ann Renshaw (''née'' Reidy). When he was six his parents took up a selection near the town of Binnaway. Five years later his father died in a farm accident, leaving his widow to raise eight children. Following Ann Renshaw's remarriage the family prospered and came to own a fuel depot, stock and station agency and butchery in the town. Renshaw was educated at Binnaway Central School, Patrician Brothers at Orange (where he lived with his grandmother), and then Holy Cross College at Ryde in north-western Sydney.
