Lou Goodwin
Lou Goodwin (born 15 July 1991) is an Australian professional rugby league footballer who was signed to the Canberra Raiders in the National Rugby League. He plays as a second-rower and can also play as a lock. Background Goodwin was born in West Wyalong, New South Wales, Australia. Playing career Between 2010 and 2011 Goodwin was captain of the Sydney Roosters under 20’s team. The NRL Rookie Goodwin won the Nine Network's reality TV show, The NRL Rookie, on 2 August 2016. As a result, he was offered contracts from the Canberra Raiders and the Gold Coast Titans, and ended up signing a deal to play for the Canberra Raiders. Wyalong
Wyalong is part of the Bland Shire located in the Northern Riverina Region of New South Wales, Australia. Established as a gold mining town, it is now a quiet town with historic buildings a few kilometres east of West Wyalong, the major district service centre. At the , Wyalong had a population of 851. Group 9 Rugby League
Group 9 is a rugby league competition based in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, Australia, and surrounding areas. The competition is played in five grades, with these being Under 17s, Under 19s, Women's League-Tag, Reserve-Grade and First-Grade. Currently a home and away season consisting of sixteen rounds is played. The best four teams then play-off according to the Page-McIntyre system, culminating in the Group 9 Grand final, which is traditionally held at McDonald's Park in Wagga Wagga. Albury Thunder
The Albury Thunder are a rugby league team based in Albury, New South Wales. Founded in 2011, the Thunder play in the Group 9 Rugby League competition. History The Albury Thunder were originally founded as the Albury Blues in 1934, playing in the Group 13 Rugby League competition, in which they won 8 titles. Then in 1991, Group 13 folded, and they moved to Group 9. They then changed their name to the Albury Southern Rams, and Lavington Panthers, the latter name change occurring because of the Penrith Panthers NRL team buying the Rams (and the Lavington Blues AFL Club) and renaming them the 'Lavington Panthers RLFC'. The club then rebranded to the 'Albury Thunder' name, to be more inclusive to the whole city of Albury, not just the suburb of Lavington. Matt Goodwin
Matthew Goodwin (born 19 October 1960) is an Australian former rugby league footballer who played in the 1980s and 1990s. Playing career From 1983 until 1989 Goodwin played a total of 119 games for the Penrith Panthers, in the process scoring a total of 10 tries for the club. A tough forward who was a Penrith crowd favorite, Goodwin was voted as Penrith Panthers 'player of the year' in 1987. In 1990, Goodwin was cut by the Panthers coach Ron Willey and later that year Goodwin signed for the Parramatta Eels. Unfortunately for Goodwin, he was injured while playing for the Eels and was subsequently released from his contract with the Eels in 1991. He made 27 appearances for the club in two years. After being released by the Eels in the 1991 season, Goodwin was signed by the South Sydney Rabbitohs in 1992. The NRL Rookie
''The NRL Rookie'' is an Australian National Rugby League reality television series that aired on 9Go!. The Rookies were coached by rugby league greats Brad "Freddy" Fittler, Mark Geyer and Adrian Lam. The winner of the show will be drafted to one of the 16 Australian National Rugby League (NRL) club's rookie list. The series was won by Lou Goodwin, who chose to be drafted to Canberra Raiders over the Gold Coast Titans. Format Captain Challenge The Captain Challenges involves the rookies competing against each other in physical challenge of speed, endurance & strength each week.
