''Lotpot'' is a bilingual comic magazine published by Mayapuri Group. ''Lotpot'' title was registered by Mr. A.P. Bajaj in 1969 and the first issue came out in the same year and has been published without a break since then. Popular characters of Lotpot Comics "Motu Patlu" have a 3D animated show successfully running since the last 10 years on Nickelodeon India TV Channel and still continues entertaining kids with its rib tickling content. History Initially it was a weekly magazine which later on switched to fortnightly magazine after 2011. Later on, the magazine started publishing in English as well as Hindi. The circulation of Hindi versions reached 175,000 and of English version to 225,000. Lotpot Comics belongs to the famous Mayapuri Group (www.mayapurigroup.com). It was started by Late Shri. Motu Patlu
''Motu Patlu'' is an Indian animated sitcom created by Harvinder Mankkar and written by Niraj Vikram that premiered on Nickelodeon in India on 16 October 2012. The series is produced by Cosmos-Maya Studios and Viacom 18. It is adapted from the classic comic strip Lotpot. It focuses on two friends, Motu and Patlu, living in a fictional town called Furfuri Nagar, however later in the series they live in another fictional city known as Modern City. In 2019, Motu Patlu and their friends were touring in Europe. Later in 2021, Motu Patlu and their friends were started touring in Indian Places. But in 2023 Motu Patlu and their friends are back to Furfuri Nagar. Motu Patlu is directed by Suhas Kadav and produced by Deepa Sahi and Anish J.S. Mehta. Chacha Chaudhary
Chacha Chaudhary is an Indian comic book character, created by cartoonist Pran Kumar Sharma. The comic comes in ten Indian languages including Hindi and English and has sold over ten million copies. It has also been made into a television series with Raghubir Yadav playing the role of Chacha Chaudhary. History Chacha Chaudhary was created in 1971 for the Hindi magazine ''Lotpot''. It soon became popular among kids and the elderly alike. Pran was inspired from the ancient philosopher Chanakya and elders people of every village who resides to help and solve problems by their elderly experience. Pran Kumar Sharma (15 August 1938 – 5 August 2014), better known as Pran, was an Indian cartoonist best known as the creator of ''Chacha Chaudhary'' (1971). He also created other characters like Shrimatiji, Pinki, Billoo, Raman, and Channi Chachi. Early life and education Born in Kasur, British India, Pran graduated with a BA from Gwalior and Master of Arts (Political Science) degree from evening Camp College, Delhi. He then pursued a five-year course in Fine Arts from Sir J. J. School of Art, Mumbai through distance as a private student while in Delhi, so that he could apply as a drawing teacher at schools, but he discontinued. Career Pran began his career in 1960 as a cartoonist for the Delhi-based newspaper ''Milap'' with comic strip '' Daabu''.
