The discography of Lostprophets, a British alternative rock band formed in Pontypridd, Wales, in 1997, contains five studio albums, three EPs, and seventeen singles. The band's first album, ''The Fake Sound of Progress'', was released through Visible Noise in the United Kingdom in November 2000 and was certified gold. The album produced two singles: "Shinobi vs. Dragon Ninja", which was successful in the US, peaking at number thirty-three on the Alternative Songs chart, and the title track "The Fake Sound of Progress". The first single released from their second album, ''Start Something'', was " Burn Burn" in November 2003, and was originally scheduled to be closely followed by the release of the album. Lostprophets
Lostprophets (stylised as lostprophets) were a Welsh rock band from Pontypridd, formed in 1997 by singer and lyricist Ian Watkins and guitarist Lee Gaze. The band was founded after their former band Fleshbind broke up. They later recruited Mike Lewis (guitars) and Mike Chiplin on drums. Lostprophets released five studio albums: ''The Fake Sound of Progress'' (2000), ''Start Something'' (2004), ''Liberation Transmission'' (2006), '' The Betrayed'' (2010), and ''Weapons'' (2012). They sold 3.5 million albums worldwide, achieving two top-ten singles on the UK Singles Chart (" Last Train Home" and " Rooftops"), a No. 1 single on the US Alternative Songs chart ("Last Train Home"), and several Kerrang! Awards and nominations. In December 2012, Watkins was charged with multiple sexual offences against minors, infants and animals. Burn Burn (song)
"Burn Burn" is the first single from ''Start Something'', the second album from the Welsh rock band Lostprophets. The video for the single was filmed in The Roundhouse, Camden, London. Release and reception "Burn Burn" was released in the winter of 2003 and became one of the most successful songs from ''Start Something'' on the rock charts. "Burn Burn" charted at 81 on the German Single Chart and on 48 on the Australian Singles Chart. "Last Train Home" is their second single to ever chart in the US — the first one is "Shinobi vs. Dragon Ninja." "Burn Burn" is their only single to ever chart in Germany. The Betrayed (Lostprophets Album)
''The Betrayed'' is the fourth studio album by Welsh rock band Lostprophets, released through Visible Noise and Sony Music on 13 January 2010. Although the band initially wished to record a quick follow-up to 2006's ''Liberation Transmission'', problems with labels and producers led to numerous delays. Consequently, tracks from the album were performed live as early as 2007, but recording was not completed until July 2009, following an entire album's worth of material being scrapped by the band. The singles include: " It's Not the End of the World, But I Can See It from Here", " Where We Belong" and " For He's a Jolly Good Felon". "A Better Nothing" was set to be the fourth single, but it was cancelled due to the poor charting of "For He's a Jolly Good Felon". The video was filmed in Los Angeles and is inspired by the 1970s mod film ''Quadrophenia' The shoes on the cover art are derived from a competition where fans were asked to take Polaroid pictures of their shoes. ''Liberation Transmission'' is the third studio album by Welsh rock band Lostprophets, released on 26 June 2006 by Visible Noise. Recording This is the first Lostprophets album recorded without original drummer Mike Chiplin. Josh Freese drummed at the request of Bob Rock, but the band's first choice was Travis Barker. Ilan Rubin also played drums for the songs "Everybody's Screaming!!!" and "For All These Times Son, for All These Times". Release "Rooftops (A Liberation Broadcast)" was released to American radio on 16 May 2006. On 13 June, "For All These Times Son, For All These Times" was made available for streaming via the band's Myspace profile. On 25 June, the album was made available for streaming via ''Alternative Press'', and was a day later through Columbia. From late August to mid October, the band went on a headlining tour of the US with support from Kill Hannah, the Rasmus and Eighteen Visions. "Last Summer" is the fourth single from ''Start Something'', the second album by the Welsh rock band Lostprophets. The previous singles, " Burn Burn", " Last Train Home" and "Wake Up (Make a Move)" had all been highly successful on both sides of the Atlantic so this single was under similar pressure; it reached number 13 in the UK Singles Chart. The song describes the band members enjoying memories past of visiting towns in South Wales such as the seaside town of Porthcawl. The song's B-side, "Sweet Dreams My LA Ex", is a cover of a song by English popstar, and former member of S Club 7, Rachel Stevens.
