''Lost Songs 95–98'' is the fifth studio album by musician David Gray. Originally released on 31 July 2000, the album charted at number 55 in the UK. David Peter Gray (born 13 June 1968) is a British singer-songwriter. He released his first album in 1993 and received worldwide attention after the release of ''White Ladder'' six years later. ''White Ladder'' was the first of three UK chart-toppers in six years for Gray; it became the fifth best-selling album of the 2000s in the UK and ranked as the tenth best-selling album of the 21st century in the United Kingdom in October 2019. Folk Rock
Folk rock is a hybrid music genre that combines the elements of folk and rock music, which arose in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom in the mid-1960s. East West Records (stylized as east''west'') is a record label formed in 1955, distributed and owned by Warner Music Group, headquartered in London, England. Iestyn Polson is an English music producer, engineer, songwriter, musician, and mixer best known for his work with David Gray, Patti Smith and David Bowie. Originally from London, Polson is currently based in New York City. Iestyn Polson grew up in London, England, and formed his first band at age 11. Polson learned to play multiple instruments throughout his childhood and later became interested in record production. Through engineering in studios in London, Polson was introduced to singer/songwriter David Gray who was compiling demos at the time. The two began working together resulting in the multi-platinum selling album White Ladder. The album was made for less than $5,000 in the UK singer-songwriter's London apartment, and combines Gray's now signature sound of electronic grooves and acoustic folk. ''White Ladder'' is the fourth studio album by English folk singer-songwriter David Gray. It was first released in March 1999 through Gray's own record label, IHT Records, but failed to chart. On 24 April 2000, the album was re-released by Dave Matthews' label ATO Records and debuted at number 69 on the UK Albums Chart, before climbing to number one on 5 August 2001, more than a year later. ''White Ladder'' produced five singles, including the hit "Babylon", which ignited interest in the album and shot Gray to worldwide fame. Craig McClune, commonly known as Clune, is a British musician and producer, known mostly as the drummer, percussionist, backing vocalist and bass player for David Gray.
