Lost Children (1956 Film)
''Lost Children'' ( cs, Ztracenci) is a 1956 Czechoslovak historical drama anti-war film directed by Miloš Makovec and based on Jiří Brdečka's adaptation of a short story by Alois Jirásek. The film was screened in the main competition section of the 1957 Cannes Film Festival. Plot During a war between Austria and Prussia, three soldiers desert their units after being defeated by the Prussian army and find the shelter in a lonely farmhouse. They do not share the pacifist belief of the farmer, but they also do not want to fight anymore. After the farm house is attacked by plundering Prussian hussars, the three soldiers decide to fight and eventually die, not for glory or money or their empress, but for innocent people. ''Lost Children'' is a 2005 documentary film by Ali Samadi Ahadi and Oliver Stoltz about Military use of children in civil war in northern Uganda. The film premiered in February 2005 at the Berlin International Film Festival, where it received the third place at PANORAMA Audience Award. The film was awarded in October 2005, the UNICEF Prize and the Youth Award and ran for more than two dozen international film festivals. Lost Children was nominated for Deutschen Kamerapreis Köln Award in 2005 for Best Documentary and Deutscher Filmpreis in 2006 in the documentary category. ''Dungeons & Dragons'' is an American animated television series based on TSR's ''Dungeons & Dragons'' role-playing game. It is a co-production of Marvel Productions and TSR, with the Japanese Toei Animation. It ran on CBS from 1983 through 1985 for three seasons, for a total of twenty-seven episodes. The show focuses on a group of six friends who are transported into the realm of Dungeons & Dragons, following their adventures as they try to find a way home with the help of their guide the Dungeon Master while combating an evil wizard. A final unproduced episode would have served as both a conclusion to the story and as a re-imagining of the show, had it been picked up for a fourth season. However, it was canceled before the episode was made.
