''Loss'' is the sixth studio album by United Kingdom, British musician, songwriter and producer Steven Wilson released under the pseudonym Bass Communion, and was limited to only 450 copies on vinyl. The original pressing featured a scented inner sleeve. The album consists of a title track split in two parts. It was re-issued shortly after, in a CD+DVD-A edition containing both Stereo and 5.1 Surround Sound, 5.1 Surround mixes. In February 2009, it was also re-issued as a limited edition 12" picture disc vinyl version of 500 copies. Sir Joshua Alexander "Joe" Loss (22 June 1909 – 6 June 1990) was a British dance band leader and musician who founded his own eponymous orchestra. Life Loss was born in Spitalfields, London, the youngest of four children. His parents, Israel and Ada Loss, were Russian Jews and first cousins. His father was a cabinet-maker who had an office furnishing business. Loss attended the Jews' Free School, Trinity College of Music and the London College of Music (now part of the University of West London).
