Los Heraldos Del Rey
The King's Heralds is a male gospel music quartet that began in 1927 and have recorded over 100 albums encompassing 30 languages. They are primarily known for their a cappella singing and close harmony. History The ''King's Heralds'' began in 1927 by four college students; brothers Lewis, Waldo and Wesley Crane and Ray Turner (1908-2008) in Keene, Texas who began singing gospel music, under the name ''Lone Star Four.'' They soon appeared with Pastor R. L. Benton on his radio program on KFPL from Waco, Texas. In 1936, they were invited by H.M.S. Richards to join the Voice of Prophecy in California, and were renamed the ''King's Heralds'' after a radio naming contest. This association continued until 1982, when they became a self-supporting ministry. The ''King's Heralds'' are also known by the name ''The Heralds'', in Portuguese as the ''Arautos do Rei'' and in Spanish as ''Los Heraldos del Rey''. Trinity Broadcasting Network
The Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) is an international Christian-based broadcast television network and the world's largest religious television network. TBN was headquartered in Costa Mesa, California, until March 3, 2017, when it sold its highly visible office park, Trinity Christian City. The broadcaster retained its studios in nearby Tustin. Auxiliary studio facilities are located in Irving, Hendersonville, Gadsden, Decatur, Miami and Orlando, Tulsa and New York City. Wayne Hooper
Wayne Hillard Hooper (July 4, 1920 – February 27, 2007) was widely known as a gospel music composer, arranger and as a singer in the King's Heralds quartet for the Voice of Prophecy radio program. During his prolific career he produced nine volumes of gospel hymn vocal arrangements, and a number of solo songs and choral music. The ''Hooper style'' arrangements of male quartet music performed by the King's Heralds were widely copied throughout the world. Approximately 100 of his arrangements are now in the public domain and are available online. His best known song, "''We Have This Hope''," was created as the theme song for the 1962 Seventh-day Adventist General Conference Session in San Francisco. The song was used again as the theme song for the General Conference sessions of 1966, 1975, 1995 and 2000 and has been translated into numerous languages. Del Delker
Ardella V. Delker (October 21, 1924 – January 31, 2018) was an American contralto sacred music female vocalist who sang on the Voice of Prophecy radio ministry beginning in 1947. Biography Delker was born in Java, South Dakota, in 1924. She started singing informally at a young age, such as an incident when she was three years old, when she became separated from her parents and started singing in front of the local bank; people passing by offered her money for her performance. When she was seven, her mother, by now separated from her father, moved to California with Del and her brother. Her mother was a Seventh-day Adventist, and sent Del to an Adventist school for grades 5 through 8, but Del was not interested in the church, preferring to sing popular music, and volunteering to sing to the armed forces. Chapel Music, formerly Chapel Records is a record label, currently in Nampa, Idaho (relocated from California) that releases religious music. Gospel music is a traditional genre of Christian music, and a cornerstone of Christian media. The creation, performance, significance, and even the definition of gospel music varies according to culture and social context. Gospel music is composed and performed for many purposes, including aesthetic pleasure, religious or ceremonial purposes, and as an entertainment product for the marketplace. Gospel music is characterized by dominant vocals and strong use of harmony with Christian lyrics. Gospel music can be traced to the early 17th century. Hymns and sacred songs were often repeated in a call and response fashion, heavily influenced by ancestral African music.
