Los Gusanos
Los Gusanos is a garage/rock/punk band formed in 1992 by Chris Ward (a.k.a. C. J. Ramone of the Ramones). The band began as a side project, but became a full-time job after the Ramones disbanded. Unlike his bassist role in Ramones, Ward sings lead and plays rhythm guitar. With Ward joined by "Dirty" Ed Lynch on lead guitar, "Big" John Chadwick on bass and Frank Saitta on drums, the band put out a few singles (including a cover of Ten Years After's "I'd Love To Change The World") before recording its self-titled debut album in 1997. Garage Rock
Garage rock (sometimes called garage punk or 60s punk) is a raw and energetic style of rock and roll that flourished in the mid-1960s, most notably in the United States and Canada, and has experienced a series of subsequent revivals. The style is characterized by basic chord (music), chord structures played on electric guitars and other instruments, sometimes distorted through a distortion (music), fuzzbox, as well as often unsophisticated and occasionally aggressive lyrics and delivery. Ramones
The Ramones were an American punk rock band that formed in the New York City neighborhood of Forest Hills, Queens, in 1974. They are often cited as the first true punk rock group. Despite achieving a limited commercial appeal in the United States during their time together, the band saw more success in England and Brazil, and are today seen as highly influential. All of the band members adopted pseudonyms ending with the surname "Ramone", although none of them were biologically related; they were inspired by Paul McCartney, who would check into hotels as "Paul Ramon". The Ramones performed 2,263 concerts, touring virtually nonstop for 22 years. In 1996, after a tour with the Lollapalooza music festival, they played a farewell concert in Los Angeles and disbanded.
