Los Estómagos
Los Estómagos was a Uruguayan punk rock band formed in Pando, Uruguay in 1983, is considered one of the most important in the history of Uruguayan rock since they were key figures in the development of the 1980s punk scene along with Los Traidores . History Its musical style was based on punk and post-punk from the 1980s, greatly influenced by Spanish rock of the time. The band was formed in the summer of 1983 in the city of Pando, with three instrumentalists in search of a vocalist. Gabriel Peluffo enters the band in February of the following year, after singing "Rosario" by KK de Luxe in a rehearsal. They debut on a school dance at the "Centro de Protección de Chóferes" from Pando on 6 August, after 6 months of rehearsals. 2 more months pass until they show up on the "Festival de la Canción" in the city of San José de Mayo, with both an original song (Penicilina) and an interpretation of the classic tango Cambalache. Pando, Uruguay
Pando is a city in the Canelones Department of Uruguay. It is an important commercial and industrial centre which has become part of the wider metropolitan area of Montevideo. Pando is also the name of the municipality to which the city belongs and which includes several other small populated areas and rural areas from the limits of the Ciudad de la Costa to the south to the limits of Route 7 (Uruguay), Route 7 to the northwest. Location The city is located on Route 8 (Uruguay), Route 8, about northeast of Montevideo. The stream Arroyo Pando flows by the east limits of the city. History Pando was founded on 13 May 1788. It took its name from one of its first inhabitants who had moved there in 1730. It was the seat of the ''Guardia del Pando'', a force against Portuguese advances. Los Traidores (band)
Traidores (English for "the traitors") is a Uruguayan punk rock band founded during the post-dictatorship disarray of mid-1980s Uruguay. History ''Traidores'' was born in 1983 when Víctor Nattero and Juan Casanova (his cousin) got together with Pablo Dana and Alejandro Bourdillon started practicing in their houses. The band was influenced by The Clash, Sex Pistols, and by British punk rock from the late 1970s in general. The group started playing live and grew in popularity, attracting a large following for the local scene in which they were based. Los Traidores headed up the first version of Cabaret Voltaire, a gathering of musicians, sculptors, painters, and other young artists from the alternative art scene in Uruguay. The band was included on a compilation of Uruguayan groups called "Graffiti" (Orfeo, 1985), along with the bands Los Estómagos, Zero, Los Tontos, Neoh 23 and ADN. Buitres Después De La Una
History of the band Beginnings Buitres was formed after Los Estomagos' dissolution, and it originally had three of its members, Gabriel Peluffo as the lead singer, Gustavo Parodi on guitar and Marcelo Lasso on the drums. Jose Rambao joined in as the bass player, he had a short participation as the Los Estomagos' bass player when its original bass player was absent because of health problems. First years In March 1990, they published their eponymous debut under the Orfeo label which was composed of 13 songs, 4 tracks being covers from other bands. And the next year they published another album, called "La Bruja" which had mostly original material, except for a Johnny Thunder's cover. First success In 1993 they published a Boxset which included their first two albums and also released a new album called "Maraviya".
