Lorraine Rita Bird (born 12 February 1942) is a former Australian politician. Bird worked as an antiques dealer and community development worker, and joined the Labor Party in 1979. In 1985 she was elected to Pioneer Shire Council (serving until 1991), and in 1989 was elected to the Queensland Legislative Assembly as the Labor member for Whitsunday Whitsun (also Whitsunday or Whit Sunday) is the name used in Britain, and other countries among Anglicans and Methodists, for the Christian High Holy Day of Pentecost. The Parliament of Queensland is the legislature of Queensland, Australia. As provided under the Constitution of Queensland, the Parliament consists of the Monarch of Australia and the Legislative Assembly. It has been the only unicameral state legislature in the country since the upper chamber, the Legislative Council, was abolished in 1922. Pauline Hanson's One Nation (PHON or ONP), also known as One Nation or One Nation Party, is a right-wing populist political party in Australia. It is led by Pauline Hanson. One Nation had electoral success in the late 1990s, before suffering an extended decline after 2001. Its leaders have been accused, charged, and later acquitted, of fraud, and the party has suffered from numerous defections, resignations and other internal scandals which culminated in Hanson's resignation from the party. Geoffrey Hugh Muntz (born 11 July 1938) is a former Australian politician. He was born in Beenleigh to Hugh Dunstan Muntz and Ethel Rebecca, ''née'' Doherty. He attended Pimpama State School and Queensland Agricultural High School before becoming a rural and urban valuer. He married Jean Saverin on 27 February 1960; they had four children. In 1961 he was appointed an inspector with the State Lands Department, and in 1964 became district manager of the State Agricultural Bank. A member of the National Party, he was elected to the Queensland Legislative Assembly in 1980 as the member for Whitsunday. In 1983 he was promoted to the front bench as Minister for Welfare Services, moving to Corrective Services, Administration Services and Valuation in 1986. In December of that year he was assigned to Tourism, National Parks and Sport, and then in 1987 to Environment, Conservation and Tourism. The Shire of Pioneer was a Local government in Australia, local government area surrounding the city of Mackay, Queensland, Mackay and including all but its innermost suburbs. The shire, administered from Mackay, Queensland, Mackay itself, covered an area of , and existed as a local government entity from 1879 until 1994, when it was dissolved and amalgamated with City of Mackay.
