Lorinda Munson Bryant
Lorinda Munson Bryant (21 March 1855 − 13 December 1933) was an American writer and educator. Biography She was born near Granville, Ohio, in 1855 to Marvin M. Munson, a lawyer, and Emma Sabin Culbertson. In 1875, she married Charles W. Bryant, a druggist; he died in 1886, and Lorinda Bryant took over running his drug store. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from Granville Female College in 1892. The next year, she studied at the Chicago College of Pharmacy, and after further studies at Denison University, she became the first woman in Ohio to be a registered pharmacist. She subsequently studied science at Cornell University, and later founded the Montrose School for girls in South Orange, New Jersey. Lorinda Cherry ( Landgraf; November 18, 1944 – February 2022) was an American computer scientist and programmer. Much of her career was spent at Bell Labs, where she was for many years a member of the original Unix Lab. Cherry developed several mathematical tools and utilities for text formatting and analysis, and influenced the creation of others. Lorinda "Linda" de Roulet ('' née'' Payson; born May 8, 1930) is an American philanthropist. She is the former president of the New York Mets of Major League Baseball. She served in the role from 1975 through 1980. She succeeded her mother, Joan Whitney Payson, in the role upon her death, and served as president until her family sold the team to Doubleday & Company. Early life Lorinda de Roulet is the daughter of Joan Payson, the first owner of the New York Mets of Major League Baseball (MLB), and Charles Shipman Payson. Anna Etheridge
Lorinda Anna "Annie" Blair Etheridge (May 3, 1839 – January 23, 1913 ) was a Union nurse and vivandière who served during the American Civil War. She was one of only two women to receive the Kearny Cross. She was inducted into the Michigan Women's Hall of Fame in 2010. Anna Etheridge was born Lorinda Anna Blair in 1839 in Wayne County, Michigan. In 1860, she married James Etheridge. At the outbreak of the American Civil War, Etheridge enlisted in 2nd Michigan Volunteer Infantry Regiment, serving as a nurse and vivandière. Her desire to become a nurse stemmed from caring for her father before his death. Phelekezela Mphoko (born 11 June 1940) is a Zimbabwean politician, diplomat, businessman and former military commander who served as Second Vice-President of Zimbabwe from 2014 until 2017, as well as Zimbabwe's ambassador to Russia, Botswana and South Africa. Early life Perry was born December 21, 1884, in Melvin, Illinois, the daughter of Eugene Beauharnais Perry and Elizabeth Wilson Perry.
