Lorenzo Rudolf (born 1959 in Bern, Switzerland) is a Swiss art impresario, curator, art fair organiser, advisor and key note speaker. Biography Born in Bern, Switzerland on 20 May 1959, Rudolf studied law at the University of Bern, before joining SIX Financial Information, a globally active telecommunications company in Zurich, as international PR Manager in 1988. In 1991, Rudolf was appointed Director of Art Basel, where he revolutionized the international art fairs market and initiated a global expansion of the fair, developing a waiting list of over 700 galleries by the time he left in 2000. By introducing a strict selection process for exhibitors corporate sponsorships, VIP privileges and educational fringe events, Rudolf adopted bold tactics together with his commercial experience to evolve and grow the fair into the world-class cultural and social event that it is today, making it one of the first fairs with such an extensive and engaging programme. Claude Nobs
Claude Nobs (February 4, 1936 – January 10, 2013) was the founder and general manager of the Montreux Jazz Festival. Biography Nobs was born in Montreux, Switzerland. After apprenticing as a cook, Nobs worked in the Tourism Office of Montreux. He later went to New York, where he met Nesuhi Ertegün, the then-president of Atlantic Records. He also met Roberta Flack and invited her to the ''Rose d’Or de Montreux''. Later, Aretha Franklin made her first visit to Europe thanks to him. At the age of 31, while he was director of the Tourism Office of Montreux, he organized the first jazz festival featuring artists such as Charles Lloyd, Keith Jarrett, Ron McLure and Jack DeJohnette.
