Lorenzo Perrone (athlete)
Lorenzo Perrone (born 26 September 1981) is a former Italian male middle-distance runner who won two national titles at senior level and that in 2003 ranking in 24th place at the end of season in the World list of the 3000 metres indoor, thanks to this good performance he participated at the 2003 IAAF World Indoor Championships. Biography He was 10th at the 2002 European Athletics Championships in Munich in the final of the 1500 metres. He also participated at two editions of the IAAF World Cross Country Championships (2001, 2004) at individual senior level. 1500 Metres
The 1500 metres or 1,500-metre run (typically pronounced 'fifteen-hundred metres') is the foremost middle distance track event in athletics. The distance has been contested at the Summer Olympics since 1896 and the World Championships in Athletics since 1983. It is equivalent to 1.5 kilometers or approximately miles. The event is closely associated with its slightly longer cousin, the mile race, from which it derives its nickname "the metric mile". The demands of the race are similar to that of the 800 metres, but with a slightly higher emphasis on aerobic endurance and a slightly lower sprint speed requirement. The Italian Cross Country Championships ( it, Campionati Italiani di corsa campestre) is an annual cross country running competition that serves as Italy's national championship for the sport. It is usually held in February or March. It was first held in 1908 and featured a men's long course race only. A women's race was added to the programme in 1926. The event includes separate races for both sexes across four categories: open (senior), under-23, under-20, and under-18 ( it, assoluti, promesse, juniores, allievi).
