Lord George Gordon-Lennox
Lord George Charles Gordon-Lennox (né Lennox; 22 October 1829 – 22 February 1877), was a British Conservative politician. Background Gordon-Lennox was the fifth son of Charles Gordon-Lennox, 5th Duke of Richmond and Lady Caroline, daughter of Field Marshal Henry Paget, 1st Marquess of Anglesey. Charles Gordon-Lennox, 6th Duke of Richmond, Lord Henry Lennox and Lord Alexander Gordon-Lennox were his elder brothers. George was born with the surname Lennox; when his father inherited the Gordon estates from his uncle, the father took the surname Gordon-Lennox for himself and his issue, by royal licence dated 9 August 1836. Political career Gordon-Lennox sat as Member of Parliament for Lymington between 1860 and 1874. He was also a Lieutenant in the Royal Horse Guards. Family Gordon-Lennox married Minnie Augusta, daughter of William Henry Palmer and widow of Edwin Adolphus Cook, in 1875. They had no children. He died in February 1877, aged 47. William Alexander Mackinnon (1813–1903)
William Alexander Mackinnon (1813 – 14 September 1903) was elected the Whig MP for Rye on 10 July 1852 but the result was declared void as a result of "treating". There was a question of £220 left behind a sofa cushion at the Red Lion to pay for a dinner. At the resulting bye-election the seat was taken by his father. At the next election he was elected MP for Lymington which he held until 1868 but he never spoke in parliament. He was the 34th Chief of the Clan Mackinnon."Deaths." Edmund Hegan Kennard
Colonel Edmund Hegan Kennard VD FRGS (14 October 1834 – 9 July 1912) was an English Conservative politician who sat in the House of Commons in two periods between 1868 and 1885. Kennard was the son of John Peirse Kennard and his wife Sophia Chapman. He was educated at Balliol College, Oxford, and became captain in the 8th Hussars. At the 1868 general election Kennard was elected Member of Parliament (MP) for Beverley. The election was declared void on 11 March 1869. No writ was issued to replace the members and the constituency was disenfranchised by an Act which received Royal assent on 4 July 1870. The novelist Anthony Trollope was one of the defeated candidates in this final corrupt election for which Beverley was disfranchised, and drew on his experience directly for his description of the Percycross election in his novel Ralph the Heir, and also told the story in his Autobiography.
