Loras Duhawks Football
The Loras Duhawks football team represents Loras College in college football at the NCAA Division III level. The Duhawks are members of the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C), fielding its team in the A-R-C since 1986 when it was named the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC). The Duhawks play their home games at Rock Bowl Stadium in Dubuque, Iowa. The team was also previously known as the St. Joseph's Duhawks, Dubuque Duhawks, and the Columbia Duhawks. Their head coach is Steve Helminiak, who took over the position for the 2013 season. Steve Helminiak
Steve Helminiak is an American football coach. He is the head football coach at Loras College located in Dubuque, Iowa, a position he has held since midway through the 2013 season. Helminiak served as the head football coach at Southern Oregon University from 2006 to 2010. His coaching record at Southern Oregon was 16–31. David Ostrander is a former American football coach and college administrator. He served as the head football coach at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant, Iowa (1977), Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa (1978–1979), and Monmouth College in Monmouth, Illinois (1980–1983), compiling a career college football coaching record of 13–50–1. Claude Maddox (American Football)
Claude "Screwy" Maddox (1901 – June 21, 1958), born John Edward Moore, was a Chicago mobster and head of the Circus Cafe Gang whose ranks included future Chicago mobsters Anthony "Tough Tony" Capezio, Vincenzo De Mora ("Machine Gun" Jack McGurn, one-time owner of the " Green Mill") and Antonino "Tony" "Joe Batters" Accardo. Maddox was born in St. Louis, Missouri. He served in the Army during World War I, reaching the rank of sergeant in the 18th Infantry Regiment.
