Loomis, Saskatchewan
Loomis, also known as Echo, is an unincorporated community in Frontier Rural Municipality No. 19, Saskatchewan, Canada. The community is located on the intersection of Highway 18 and Highway 614, about 70 km southeast of the community of Robsart and about 38 km south of the town of Eastend. History Loomis had a few small businesses and storefronts along the main street, with four grain elevators that have since been demolished, and a school that still stands as of today. Since the late thirties, Loomis has slowly died in population and only one family remains. Havre ( ) is the county seat and largest city in Hill County, Montana, United States. Havre is nicknamed the crown jewel of the Hi-Line. It is said to be named after the city of Le Havre in France. Claydon is an unincorporated community within the Rural Municipality of Frontier No. 19, Saskatchewan, Canada. The community is located 60 km southeast of the community of Robsart, 50 km south of the town of Eastend, and 31 km West of Frontier, Saskatchewan on Highway 18. Very little remains of the former community: only a post office that was also formerly a grocery store, a community hall, and ball diamonds. Dollard, Saskatchewan
Dollard is an unincorporated community, within the Rural Municipality of Arlington No. 79, Saskatchewan, Canada. The community is situated on the historic Red Coat Trail in the southwest corner of the province, 13 km west of the town of Shaunavon and 21 km east of the town of Eastend. It is approximately 100 km from the Montana USA border and 130 km to the Alberta border. History By 1908 enough French speaking settlers had arrived in the region to establish a community which they named Valroy (Val Roy). The name was later changed to Dollard. The name Dollard was chosen by Father Louis-Pierre Gravel (the founder of Gravelbourg) to honour the memory of a hero of New France, Adam Dollard, Sieur des Ormeaux. A post office was established in 1909 and in 1911 the church of ''Sainte-Jeanne d'Arc'' (Joan of Arc) was built. A store soon followed and then a school in 1912. The post office closed in 1988.
