Longus
Longus, sometimes Longos ( el, Λόγγος), was the author of an ancient Greek novel or romance, ''Daphnis and Chloe''. Nothing is known of his life; it is assumed that he lived on the isle of Lesbos (setting for ''Daphnis and Chloe'') during the 2nd century AD. It has been suggested that the name Longus is merely a misinterpretation of the first word of ''Daphnis and Chloes title ''Λεσβιακῶν ἐρωτικῶν λόγοι'' ("story of a Lesbian romance", "Lesbian" for "from Lesbos island") in the Florentine manuscript; EE Seiler observes that the best manuscript begins and ends with ''λόγου'' (not ''λόγγου'') ''ποιμενικῶν''. If his name was really Longus, he was possibly a freedman of some Roman family which bore that name as a cognomen. Longos, Achaea
Loggos ( el, Λόγγος) is a village in the municipal unit of Aigialeia in the northeastern part of Achaea in the Peloponnese, Greece. The villages Loggos and Selianitika (adjacent to the southeast) share a beautiful beach on the Gulf of Corinth which is approximately 1.5 km long. Both villages are among the most popular summer destinations of Achaea. Loggos is 2 km east of Kamares, 4 km northwest of Rododafni and 7 km northwest of Aigio. The Greek National Road 8A (Athens - Corinth - Patras) runs southwest of the village. Historical population Sports The "Loggos Football Field" is located in the southwestern side of Longos village near Foinikas River. Loggos historical football team, "Aris Loggou", used to be the pride of the natives due to the participation in the First Local Division. Longos, Paxoi
Longos ( el, Λογγός) is the smallest of the island ports on Paxoi, one of the Ionian Islands of Greece. At the 2011 census, its population was 81 for the village and 298 for the municipal district, which includes the villages Anemogiannatika, Dendiatika, Kagkatika, Kontogiannatika and Koutsi. Population Geography Longos is situated on the northeast coast of the island, and has a small fishing harbour. There are several shops and bars. At one end of Longos harbour stands the tall chimney from an abandoned soap factory. There are several shingle beaches nearby. Estiaiotida ( el, Εστιαιώτιδα) is a former municipality in the Trikala regional unit, Thessaly, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform, it is part of the municipality Trikala Trikala ( el, Τρίκαλα; rup, Trikolj) is a city in northwestern Thessaly, Greece, and the capital of the Trikala regional unit. Sithonia
Sithonia ( el, Σιθωνία), also known as Longos, is a peninsula of Chalkidiki, which itself is located on a larger peninsula within Greece. The Kassandra Peninsula lies to the west of Sithonia and the Mount Athos peninsula to the east. Sithonia is also a municipality, covering the Sithonia peninsula. The seat of the municipality is the town Nikiti. Geography Gulfs that surround the peninsula are the Singitic Gulf to the east and the Toronean Gulf to the west. The peaks of Itamos and Dragoudelis are in the center of the peninsula. The landscape is covered with vineyards, forests, grasslands, shrubland and mountains. Amongst the many historic places in Sithonia is the ancient city, the castle and the church of Agios Athanasios in Toroni, the windmills in Sykia and the 16th century church in Nikiti. Cabangan, officially the Municipality of Cabangan, is a 4th class municipality in the province of Zambales, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 28,118 people. Cabangan is from Iba, from Olongapo, and from Manila. History Cabangan is a coastal town that was originally located in Barrio San Isidro. Kalayaan, officially the Municipality of Kalayaan ( tgl, Bayan ng Kalayaan), is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Laguna, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 24,755 people. Kalayaan is in the fourth district of the province of Laguna and can be reached three hours by land from Manila. It is the home of approximately 24,214 citizenry. The municipality is home to a hydroelectric power plant, the only pumped storage facility in the Philippines, the Kalayaan Pumped Storage Power Plant located in Brgy.
