Long Creek (White River Tributary)
Long Creek is a stream in western Boone and eastern Carroll counties of Northwest Arkansas. The stream is a tributary of the Table Rock Lake section of White River. The stream headwaters arise high in the Ozark Mountains of northwestern Arkansas in southwest Boone County. The stream flows northwest into Carroll County and turns north and runs parallel to U.S. Route 412 past Carrollton. It turns northeast and re-enters Boone County and passes under the Route 412/Route 62 concurrency just east of Alpena. The stream meanders back and forth across the Boone-Carroll county line repeatedly passing the community of Denver where it gains the Dry Creek tributary. It continues on to the north to enter the waters of Table Rock Lake in northwestern Boone County. Long Creek is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Williams County, North Dakota, United States. It was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census. The CDP is on the southern edge of Williams County, on the northern shore of Lake Sakakawea, a large reservoir on the Missouri River. The community sits between two inlets to the lake: Long Creek to the north and Chris Creek to the south. Lewis and Clark State Park is to the north, across Long Creek. Long Creek was the name of a town on the eastern side of Dallas County. In 1953, it merged with the three nearby towns of Hattersville, Tripp and New Hope to form the town of Sunnyvale, Texas. Long Creek, Oregon
Long Creek is a city in Grant County, Oregon, United States. The population was 173 at the 2020 census. The city is named after John Long, a prominent miner who came to Grant County in 1862 during the Canyon City rush of that same year. Located in a high valley of the Blue Mountains, ranching has been the principal enterprise for the area. Log harvesting was slowly curtailed in the nearby Malheur National Forest until the local mill was closed in 1998. History The city was incorporated in 1891. At the 1900 census the city recorded 123 residents. Long Creek fell to 86 people in 1910, and then rebounded to 148 at 1920's census. After dipping to 139 people in 1930, the city saw steady population growth for several decades with population numbers of 238 in 1940, 288 in 1950, and topping out at 295 residents in 1960.
