London Circuit
London Circuit is a road in Canberra, Australia, which surrounds City Hill in Civic, the city centre. It has a hexagonal shape, and intersects with several main roads such as Northbourne Avenue (), Edinburgh Avenue (), Akuna Street (), Constitution Avenue and Commonwealth Avenue (). Several important buildings are located on London Circuit. These include the Australian Capital Territory Legislative Assembly, the Supreme Court, the ACT Magistrates Court, the historic Sydney and Melbourne Buildings, the Canberra Theatre and the QT Canberra. As part of construction of stage 2A of the Canberra light rail, work will commence in 2022 to raise part of London Circuit by and provide a signalised, level intersection with Commonwealth Avenue. A cloverleaf interchange is a two-level interchange in which all turns are handled by slip roads. To go left (in right-hand traffic; reverse directions in left-driving regions), vehicles first continue as one road passes over or under the other, then exit right onto a one-way three-fourths loop ramp (270°) and merge onto the intersecting road. Light Rail In Canberra
The Canberra light rail network, also known as Canberra Metro, is a light rail system serving the city of Canberra, Australia. The initial line links the northern town centre of Gungahlin to the city centre (Civic) and has 14 stops. Services commenced on 20 April 2019. The 14th stop at Sandford Street in Mitchell commenced operation in September 2021. An extension of the line south to the Woden Town Centre is currently being planned. Early works on the southern extension (Stage 2A to Commonwealth Park) are set to commence in 2021 with plans due for submission around October. Magistrates Court Of The Australian Capital Territory
The Magistrates Court of the Australian Capital Territory is a court of summary jurisdiction that deals with the majority of criminal law matters and the majority of small civil law matters in the Australian Capital Territory, the Jervis Bay Territory and the Australian Antarctic Territory. City Hill, Canberra
City Hill is a park located in Canberra, Australia on one of the points of the Parliamentary Triangle, a feature of Walter Burley Griffin's plan for the city. The park is surrounded by Vernon Circle, at the south end of Northbourne Avenue, but beyond Vernon Circle it is further surrounded by the concentric London Circuit, and the area between Vernon Circle and London Circuit (which is partly built up) can also be seen as part of the hill. City Hill is an integral part of the city centre design. To the south of the hill Northbourne Avenue becomes Commonwealth Avenue, and further along is Commonwealth Avenue bridge. The hill was planted in 1921. The design, supervised by Charles Weston, Canberra's first Superintendent of Parks and Gardens, was to emphasise the vistas along the six avenues radiating from the hill and reinforce the focus that Griffin placed on the hill as forming part of the Parliamentary triangle.
