Liga Argentina De Voleibol – Serie A1
The Liga Argentina de Voleibol – Serie A1 (in English: Argentine Volleyball League – A1 Level) is the top level of the Argentine men's professional volleyball league system. It is organized by the ''Asociación de Clubes Liga Argentina de Voleibol'' (abbreviated to ACLAV). The Serie A1 has promotion and relegation with the Serie A2, the league immediately below. The league was founded in 1996 under the name ''Liga Argentina de Clubes'' (in English: Argentine League of Clubs), and was organized by the ''Federación Argentina de Voleibol'' (Argentine Volleyball Federation). 12 teams participated in the first season of the league (the 1996–97), 7 from Buenos Aires ( Vélez Sársfield, River Plate, Club de Amigos, Boca Juniors, G.E.B.A., Club Italiano, and Náutico Hacoaj) and 5 from the rest of the country (Mendoza de Regatas, Obras de San Juan, Unión Casildense, Luz y Fuerza de Necochea, and Peñarol de Mar del Plata). Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. The complete set of rules is extensive, but play essentially proceeds as follows: a player on one of the teams begins a 'rally' by serving the ball (tossing or releasing it and then hitting it with a hand or arm), from behind the back boundary line of the court, over the net, and into the receiving team's court. Lomas de Zamora is a city in the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina, located south of the City of Buenos Aires and within the metropolitan area of Greater Buenos Aires. It is the capital of Lomas de Zamora Partido and has a population of 111,897. Overview The city of Lomas de Zamora owes its name to Juan de Zamora, a Creole of Sevillian roots, owner of the lands in 1736. Men's South American Volleyball Club Championship
The South American Men's Volleyball Club Championship is an international men's club volleyball competition organized by the ''Confederación Sudamericana de Voleibol'' (CSV), the sport's governing body in South America. The competition was first contested in 2009 in Florianópolis, Brazil and tournaments have been held every year since then.
